Total value of my collection is...

In one year I'm in about $500 on products.

At minimum wage (labor) x 3 vehicles = who knows

Guess there's no such thing as hobby expenses for tax filing purposes???

If I was a business, I'd be bankrupt (work to slow).

Just added up most of my invoices and my estimate is around $800. Not as bad as some of you other guys, but looking bad I could have gotten myself a nice camera with that money :grinno:

ugh.. im feeling ya, I could've paid off the car and then did some minor mods to it with the money i've spent on detailing. But hey, it would've looked like crap, and I just can't have that.

I don't even want to think about it... Ugh... I'm going to guess in the $1500 range and I just started this year. I know I've got at least a couple hundred just in MF, then the PC, the rotary and all the products. I think I've recouped that by about 2x, though... :)

It took longer than I expected it to, but I was waiting for my UPS package anyway. It came right as I was finishing up...worked out perfectly. But then I had to add the new stuff to my list. :)

...forgot I posted on this thread. To answer - Both. Yes I detailed before joining and yes I have recently converted to professional - after I sold my old business, I decided I didn't want to work behind a desk for a while, so I just fell into being a detailer since it was already my passion.

Admittingly, most of my expenses are in equipment and not products - though I'm sure I have 10X the products non-autiopian professional detailers have.

Holy crap. I take it you were really into detailing before joining Autopia? Or are you a professional?

What are the "yucky" sheepskins for? Wheels/wells?

I still wouldn't have any towels or mitts on the garage floor. It's never a bad thing to keep dirt/sand out of your supplies.

Does someone's vehicle leak a lot of oil (plywood on floor)?

ya... the crap sheepskins are for the wheels, wells, and the undercarriage when I put the car up on ramps. Those throwaway towels only see engine bays, undercarriages, etc so I really dont care if they're on the floor. the dirty pads though, i kept those velcro side down as to not get any dirt in the foam :D

The plywood, I don't really know why it's there. The only car that really ever parks in the garage is my mom's beetle, but it doesn't leak anything except water from the A/C. I don't know why we have plywood there to tell you the truth.

Decided to add to this thread since I always enjoy reading through it...

ITS LIKE A FREAKIN' DRUG I TELL YA. :hide:

Ditto dat, man... Just as soon as I tell myself (at my wife's urging) that I have enough excellent stuff I see something else I can't live without. What makes matters worst is that I am so compulsive that I often pay 2nd day shipping charges so I can play with the new stuff the coming weekend. Ugh.

Been meaning to take a complete inventory and sell off the stuff that I no longer need, but then again there isn't anything I don't need, just stuff that I haven't used for a while but still need (I easily convince myself, see?). Oh, and show me a sale price on some chems that I like or are highly recommended and I am quickly entering my Visa number. Ugh, ugh.

Anyone interested in buying Paste Glaz? Would be in a few months since I won't be home in awhile. Only lightly used on a model car.

Lets see... I've already spend 756.74CAD on eShine alone, 146.51CAD on Autopia. And I already picked out my stuff - about 300CAD on AutoDetailingSolution. A total of 1203.25CAD, yep I am totally addicated, I quit smoking 2.5 years ago, now this, NOOOOooooo!

Does the stuff you received as Christmas gifts count towards your total? :p

If so, then I'm around $600. If not, then I'm around $300.

what you see in the photos + a rotary (a cheap one) and some mf applicators etc. About 600 euro.
