Total value of my collection is...

Not bad considering I spent $2700 on my last H-D ($1200 parts) motor and $1800 ($1500 parts) on my last F150 transmission.

I think I'm at about $300 for my supplies so far in 2006, but the year is young. (( I'm afraid to read your list Max, afraid I might get some bright ideas ))

I say mine is about 4-5k thats every thing I have. Mainly because I have 4 pc's and 2 dewalt rotarys, and a ETG gauge. But still alot of products.

I've found a few products of each category that may not be the best out there (EX: Meg's #26) but for me it works "good enough." I have no desire to improve upon these products, but rather my techniques and processes.

Good for me, too- I could never imagine what my girlfriend would say if I spent $3000 on detailing supplies and not made 3-4x profit from them :hide:

I've done that my entire life and its getting kind of old-maybe I could find a rich chick who's into cars and racing :lol

Nice thread. I'm not going to do a itemized list, but I'm somewhere in the $7,000 range for detailing tools, products, and equipment.Too much.

Holy crap. I take it you were really into detailing before joining Autopia? Or are you a professional?

The problem is...it's too cold to keep most of my stuff in the garage. I keep a few boxes of MFs and applicators out there, but the rest of the supplies are tucked away in the warmth of my bedroom closet. And no, there's no room to move around in there!

I only have a few products that I'd want to sell, but it would be products that I haven't been entirely satisfied with. I wouldn't really want to sell them to someone else, because in my mind I'd be passing on an inferior product that would probably lead to someone else's dissatisfaction as well. I just wouldn't feel right about that.

Products I'm not thrilled with include:

#7

#9

Mothers Plastic Polish

EX-P

Meg's Exterior Trim Detailer

LC VC orange pad

Chicago Electric rotary polisher. I'm looking at getting a Makita or Metabo very soon.

That's it. I like and enjoy everything else. Which is why I'm not bothered by the large amount I've spent. I enjoy the results of all of my products/supplies.

Interesting thread. I have not bought much latley and am not planning on buying too mch much this spring, just a couple of things! I have concluded to stick with what works for me. I try my best to avoid any hype with newer products. I'd say I have about $400-$600 worth.

Just added up most of my invoices and my estimate is around $800. Not as bad as some of you other guys, but looking bad I could have gotten myself a nice camera with that money :grinno:
