Does anyone know a release date for this product?

As of now there is no official set date but I can say that the labels so far have been approved and now just waiting for the printing of those labels. After they have been printed it shouldn't be too long after that.

Is opti-seal equivalent to the Jeff's AJ-trigger?

Sort of, but wetter looking. No need to buff off. Just lightly work in like you would regular AJ and that's it.
