Favorite tire dressing?

What's your favorite tire dressing? I'm looking for something that will give a deep black finish but not too glossy, will last, and most importantly, won't get slung all over my car the first time I drive it...

I still find Endurance (not the High Gloss) to be great. It lasts well, even after rain my tires look nice and clean and black, though they have hardly any gloss left. I also like that I wipe it on and that's it. No wipe-down is really required (though you could make it more matte with a wipe down). I hate wiping tires because they ruin whatever you wipe them with (I use tire swipes to apply stuff).

I apply with tire swipes, but for the wipedown, I have saved some MFs that shouldn't be used on paint... you know... they progress from wax removal to clay duty to wheel QD to wheel cleaning.... cycle them to tire cleanup before they hit the dumpster.

I prefer not to have a high gloss. Black is good, but I don't care for shiny.

I used to use Meguiar's High Gloss Endurance. I'd apply to all four tires then buff off excess. The tires would look like they just came out of the mold. Not overly glossy if applied that way. That product lasts very long even during some rain.

Lately, I've been using this product and I love it. Same long lasting dressing with a natural gloss. No spin off. Easier to apply.

I used to love Turtle Wax Tire Gel. Unfortunately, they don't make it any more. Different application methods yielded a high gloss or low sheen look. It also did not brown your tires and lasted a few car washes.

Now I use Z16. 303 is ok, but not enough gloss for me.

I was gona get the Z16, but everyone tells me it leaves a dull satin finish? My friend showed me his tires with Z16 and they looked very dull to me, but yours look wet as hell :nixweiss

It was ProWax Blue Ice Tire Gel Dressing...but after the discovery of Poorboy's Bold N Bright. I would have to say PB Bold N Bright. It leaves a nice satin look and it is water based.

With Aloha,

Ranney :)

I just did a side by side comparison of the 303 applied w/sponge, and Stoner's More Shine Less Time, and the stoner's looks alot better....makes the tire look more black.

I love this stuff! Just like the old Endurance Tire Gel.

I like NXT....just keep it out of the rain.....and it's great...applied the same way 303 was mentioned earlier...

I like it, but when the bottles finished I'm going to look for something else to use on clients vehicles....303 is too expensive for that IMO.....

There seems to have as many opinions on "best tire dressing" as replies ... no consensus here.

FWIW, I'm using NXT protectant now. It last pretty long. I have used NXT and followed up with Armorall on my second coat which worked well.

IMO, 303 is a little expensive to be slapping on tires.

Here is what the Meguiar's Hot Shine Tire Spray looks like. Very natural and dry to the touch. Not a bit oily and nothing to sling off.
