Favorite tire dressing?

#40 :bounce.

It looks good to me! I like that clean, healthy look to tires. I like #40 on tires a lot. When I want a little more gloss, I like Poorboy's Natural Look. But neither of those fair very well in rain, so I usually just use Endurance.

Endurance works well if you follow the manufacturers instructions. The thing to watch out for is, if you have lots of ribs in the side of your tires, they have a tendency to hang onto a lot of excess Endurance which will sling off if you fail to remove it. If this stuff slings off onto a lighter paint it will stain. The key is to apply, remove the excess and let the tires fully dry before driving.

Still, if used as instructed, it gives a beautiful sheen to the tire and it lasts for weeks, even through some light rain.

Well I will throw one out, Platinum Tire Gel and 1Z Tiefenfleger. I do the Tiefenfleger and then put some Platinum on it. The platinum goes on glossy at first, like Megs Endurance, but after a few hours, its goes to relatively matte and not sticky.

Agreed.:up

I've always liked the look of Vinylex buffed to reduce the shine. Unfortunately, the tires on my new van have a "serrated ring" which makes buffing a real pain. Without buffing, Vinylex is too glossy for my tastes. I'll try Meguiar's Hot Shine Tire Spray as a strictly spray-on option. Any other suggestions? :nixweiss

After trying 4 different ones, my favorite is Z16.

It does leave a nice dark satin finish with just a bit of gloss. The dripping wet shiny look is too much for me.

It's got the consistency of milk so I use a terry cloth covered sponge. I apply once around the tire and then immeditaley wipe off excess with the dry side of the sponge. No sling and dries in about 5-10 min. I put two coats on.

Lasts about 3 full washes. Probably longer but its so easy to put on I just re-do it every 3 washes.

Can one of you guys post a pic of the Amor All product you use for your tires?

I want to see an actual pic so I know what to look for over here in the UK.

Thanks in advance.

I use Z16 liberally and it gives a nice shine and you can put a second coat to make it look more wet. A little goes along way and its water based so its not like those nasty gels. I was using Meguiars Endurance gel and that stuff was nasty and flung all over the place. But even with 1 app my tires didn't look dull :nixweiss . Give it a try I think the stuff is awesome::up

I was gona get the Z16, but everyone tells me it leaves a dull satin finish? My friend showed me his tires with Z16 and they looked very dull to me, but yours look wet as hell :nixweiss

Each model tire will have a unique compound that it is composed of. Different compounds respond differently to different dressings. The results you see posted here by various products will not necessarily be duplicated on your tires depending on tire brand and model. For the most part I prefer Z16, but whereas this dressing leaves an absolutely perfect look (slight gloss, very clean with just a bit of shimmer and wetness) on one of my cars that is shoe'd with Bridgestone Turanza LS-Z tires, the Z16 does very little for my other car with Bridgestone Potenza RE050 tires. These tires are left looking clean, but somewhat dull by Z16.

Notice that these are the same brand tires, but different models. The Turanza is a medium performance tire with a high treadwear rating and the Potenza is an Ultra High Performance tire with a very low treadwear rating.....different compounds!

You HAVE to experiment with YOUR tires to find what works best with your tire's compound and... what looks best to your eye.

I use the Meguiars Hot Shine trigger on a sponge. No wipe. I use the spray at car shows for the Pilots tread.

Nice satin finish.
