This one is 'THE CHALLENGE!'

jgv--In order to be fair to the rest of us, you should have posted before and after pictures of the SAME CAR!!

I'm almost not joking--unbelievable work and the client was floored, to be sure. I'll keep you on file once I get out of grad school to fly you over the pond to give the same love to my first car!!

Amazing ! :shocked

Now those are the pics you show all your clients. It really shows your talents. I haven't had anything that bad, but I hope I do someday...Just to have amazing before and afters.

Awesome work!

What a great job. You must have a great deal of satisfaction in the results.

Did you use the Leatherique Dye, or just the treatment?

That obviously was much more than just a detail, how did you bill for it? Was this a by the hour job or what?

Whatever, it was a heck of a value for the owner!

Sam

Ok, I had to compile a set of before / after pics to print together with the list of done jobs to give my client. Here are some of those pics.

The guy said he remembered seeing the car like that before...When they picked it up at the dealer, 13 years ago ;)

Sure it wasn't a normal detail, but, If I hadn't learn what I have from Autopia, Detailcity and Showcargarage (and practice, of course) I couldn't accept this or other "challenges".

The bill will be right for the job, 2500 Euros. The satisfaction of having done it is also huge! There were moments when I was 'afraid'.

They (the client) have now a series of other cars, either to detail or recover (restore). (As I find time between selling computers and having two baby children and a wife ;) ).

How does one go about repairing leather in that bad condition?

EDIT**Which sections were replaced and which conditioned or repaired?

The bottom and the left side were replaced. The rest was treated with Leatherique. Then, the new sections were conditioned with Pinnacle Leather Care. The owner didn't find an immediately visible difference between them.

Thanks again!

Ok, cool. After I studied the pics side by side I could see the same lines and textures on the seat back between the before and after pics. Leatherique seems to be a pretty good product, it conditioned the old leather back to a like-new finish. Love drastic before and afters like this.:xyxthumbs
