This one is 'THE CHALLENGE!'

Update

The car is now on a garage where the seats and the head liner will be renewed (new leather and fabric). Later it'll go to another garage to have the rims dismounted and painted.

what im trying to figure out what is PI III FC,FG, & FP

3M Perfect-IT III Euro line: Fine Compound, Machine Polish and Finishing Glaze.

I think it is great that you have the resources to make the car new again. Sometimes a detail just wont cut it and you need to go that extra mile. The pictures speak for themselves and you are doing a great job on the paint. What brand sanding paper do you use? Would it be Nikken by Meguiars? And do you use a block to sand or just the paper?

3M block and sanding paper.

What I was showing with the pics is that the 3M line really makes the difference. Where I used it fully the result shows, even better than on wet sanded and buffed areas.

does any one know if these polishes he uses, are carried in the us under a different name, in the polish/glaze section i dont see a fine compount or machine glase

They have diferent lines of products for Europe and USA. For example, your Finishing Glaze (you have one?) has Carnuba while ours doesn't.

We had a thread about this some months ago started by Nick T. (where is he?). Do a search...

Remember this BMW?

Here are some pics before I delivere it to my client:

Finally done :doh

Looks great, excellent work! So from the before and after pics I can see the seats were replaced, but what about the headliner, was that replaced or cleaned? Looks good.:xyxthumbs

**EDIT**

Nevermind, I see the headliner confirmation in the above post. Good job on everything, I know the owner was overjoyed.:bounce

jgv,

How about a before and after shot of a couple of different views to refresh our memory. That should be a dramatic contrast!

The seats were not replaced! Only the drivers seat was repaired, some sections were replaced. The rest of the leather (as the back of the drivers seat) was treated with Leatherique. One could hardly see the difference between new and treated leather. The headliner was rebuilt also, the old fabric was replaced by new one. The moon roof had some rust and was dismounted, repaired and repainted. The whipper arms were dismounted and repainted. The windshield had to be polished (1Z glass polish) 3 times!

This just to say a little of what was done ;)

Thanks all for your compliments, it was hard job to do!

I had to revert back to the before pictures to take a second look at how bad the driver's seat was and I am dazzled by the transformation. I am at a loss of words!:bow You are the man. How does one go about repairing leather in that bad condition?

EDIT**Which sections were replaced and which conditioned or repaired?

:shocked  :shocked  :shocked

awesome work there jgv :bigups I can now see a reflection on the sides :bounce

I'd love to know the exact words of the owner when they see it........
