just ordered the polishing pads today, waiting for AG to get back to me on the shipping cost. There's no backing plate listed on their site for these pads however

ADS appears to have the backing plates....

Dave, I just received the polishing pads. What is the difference?

Between the Meg's and Optimum pads?? I'd say performance wise; nothing. Same thing really. I'm looking forward to using the cutting pads though where I think there *might* be more of a measureable difference.

Just as an update......I've been using these pads quite a bit since the start of this thread and they are holding up and working very well. Can wait for the Cutting Pads to arrive. Here's a pic of what they will look like:

Per Chris @ Optimum, it looks like the cutting pads will have an orange core:

Just an update: The pictured cutting pads were one of our BETA pads. The final cutting pads will probably be yellow with a slightly tweaked foam formula interface.

I have the Optimum MF polishing pads, been using them on my Arizona trip. The nap is thicker than the Meguiars pads so they don't load up as much, spin it out over a nylon bristle brush and they fluff up nicely for the next panel. Seems to work quite well with Hyper Polish.

I'm not sure I like the fact that I'm not allowed to post product support here, but my support info and photos from my forum can be cut/pasted. Seems like it'd be better straight from the source. Just my $0.02.

Really? I thought this was the new autopia but maybe the rules changed when they went back to a sponsorship forum (pay to play).

Scott, that's the new sprayable HC?

Yes. I have both Hyper Polish and Hyper Compound. Also have the new Polish II and Compound II. Polish II is a little less aggressive than the sprayable version, Compound II a bit more aggressive than its sprayable version.

Thanks for that, Scott. Helps in the decision of which to buy. Think I'll get the Compound II and the Hyper Polish... but after SEMA, just in case they happen to update the product lines with new versions announced at SEMA.
