A polish that is designed to be used with a machine will not work well by hand. You can not rub fast enough to break down the abrasives in it. Either use a PC or pickup a polish that is designed to work by hand. Two things wrong with doing it by hand one is you won't get nearly as good of a finish but you will develop tennis elbow before you rub out all the scratches.nathansdad04 said:OK...I just received my order. I got #601,105,671,AW and Fast clean.
A couple questions....
Since I don't have a PC(yet), how do I properly use the 671 to get out swirls? Do I use a MF applicator or foam pad? How to long do I rub it in?
When I buff the stuff off...do I do it in straight lines also?
Last question(for now)....should I put a light mist of water on the car when using the AW?
I would wait until I had a PC if you try to do it by hand you will give up before you get it done. Even with a PC it will take a lot of time to really make it look good. You can get the stuff that you need in just a few days.
I know that the PC and pads looks like a lot of money but the PC will last for years and with proper care you will get a lot of use out of the pads.
You should not need to use the PC more than once or twice a year. Once you have the car swirl free then focus on proper washing technique to keep it looking good instead of constantly removing the scratches.
AW is to be used after a wash. Rinse the car and while still wet spray the AW on. You can put it on a dry car with excellent results just spread it thin. You can cut it with water if you want add 40 percent water and see if you like the results. I prefer to use it full strength and spread it thin.
