NASCAR detailing products lol

I really didn't see anything wrong other than wearing his ring and watch as far as his processes are concerned. However the "foaming touch-up wax" was pretty funny, as well as his buffer impersonations...

Well his idea of straight wiping motions working best because people can't see the scratches from the front of the car. That was stupid. It doesn't matter what direction you wipe in...if your towel is abrasive, it's going to scratch whether you move it front to back. side to side, or in circles.

And I like how he sprayed the tires with dressing withouth cleaning them (of course we can tell that the car was already washed/detailed before the video, but he was supposed to show us how to detail a car properly)!

I actually expected much worse, there was some pretty good advice for the non-Autopians. They didnt use circular motions and even used MF towels. Only thing I wonder is how many NASCAR fans see that video and think that they are detailers now?

I am so sick of Nascar I could puke! It has turned into nothing more than a race for advertising. Nascar is on EVERYthing now! When will people learn that any redneck in a crappy car can go in circles all day? LOL Give me some road and rally courses!

i seen that product at target.

as i see it it will get them nascar wannabees to increase drafting on the freeway.

i hope it also includes decals for your car.

dirt diggler

I also like how he says he's going to teach us how to detail our cars. Then he shows us how to wash, wax, and clean leather.

I guess that's all there is to it.

Ecolab is a large chemical supplier; they have tremendous Brand recognition in the food industry, among others. AFAIK, this is their first attempt in the consumer arena... I think it is rather well done, all things considered. Better than Mequiar's, even...

FWIW, Valvoline, which owns Eagle One, recently bought CarBrite. Now we see the demise of the Eagle One Pro Line...

Perhaps irrelevant to this thread? Oh well...

HMM I can think of another product line that reccomends applying sealant in a straightline forward to back motion-that isn't a totally off the wall suggestion

Not a terrible DIY vid. He has the right idea and I think the 'average' consumer would find it useful.

PS - Where the hell is the foaming paste wax?

Fiance bought the Nascar glass cleaner as a last resort when she was a on road trip and said some of the family member put their finger all over her windows while visiting them, anyway that seemed to do the job with the Viper mf that I had left in her glove box. no streaks and nice shine. Other than that I don't think I would touch any of that stuff.

I saw a Suburban today with NASCAR stickers all over it, and a big #8 stuck on the antenna. I wonder if that guy has used these products yet.

I was never saying that the whole video is incorrect. But the first thing he shows you is how to wash a wheel with wheel cleaner. That wheel was perfectly clean already, and you certainly wouldn't need a dedicated wheel cleaner to clean those.

Then he washes the car in the direct sun, and washes half the roof, windshield, and hood, without even rinsing once. Then he rinses, and dries the car by applying pressure to a chamois as he drags it across the paint. My first impression ruined it for that guy I guess.

I used this stuff on my car, now it only turns left . . . :D

:lol :lol

It wasn't that bad. The products might not have been the best but he had the right idea with the 2 mits and stuff. Better than most I have seen. :up

These products are actually manufactured by Chemical guys and relabeled by Ecolab under a separate entity that allows profits to bypass consolidation in the public corporation. Profits can than be funneled into Nascar's sponsors stripper parties without an audit trail.

This is from a very reliable source, that's all I can say I'm already scared I shared too much. :nervous2:
