is "Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine" as good as it claims

Sludge, you may want to reconsider, because that dirt needs some place to go if it's not going to scratch. A low-nap MF doesn't provide any place for the dirt to migrate to.

And Scott, I bought 2 gallons of QEW AFTER I tried the Optimum NR. I still have a bit of it left, but it didn't give me any results that QEW can't. Plus I didn't particularly like the smell of the NR.

I've mostly used a sheepskin mitt when using ONR and haven't had any problems with it...just my personal experience though. I've never tried QEW, so can't really address the op's question.

Somewhat off-topic, but I noticed the one time I used my sea sponge with ONR, that you really go through product much more quickly with the sponge as opposed to a mitt. It just absorbs a lot more, so you unconsciously end up using more wash than you otherwise would. I went through a full 8 quarts of ONR wash with it and I just have a small hatchback!

QEW has the tendency to streak pretty bad on windows and dark colors when those surfaces are hot. This isn't an issue with Optimum. Since switching from QEW to ONR, I get a number of people asking what I did different to their cars.

Paul, you want to get rid of the ONR??

What I have noticed is customers putting off waxing longer because their cars are noticably slicker.

Paul,

You are probably right. I'm lucky my car really doesn't get that dirty in this part of the country. I'm mostly pushing polllen and bug guts around. I will try a plusher MF. Thanks.

this is yet another Optimum product that hasn't lived up to the "hype" and has disappointed me again.. I tried it by itself, and then I added 2 capfuls of Poorboys Spray N Wipe and blah.. no significant improvement..

but when I use QEW with 2 added capfuls of PB SW QD, a lot more "pop" and it leaves a slicker finish

I prefer the finish i get with QEW and have gone back to it..

I have QEW as well and was using it all winter. I just received some Optimum No Rinse Wash and tomorrow I'm getting the new Detailer's Pride 4-in-1 Rinseless Wash. Hopefully, I'll have a chance to try out all three this week and post my thoughts. Autogeek claims that their new DP product provides more lubricity than either of the other two . . . but I'll see about that. I plan on using all three straight (i.e. without QD) to make it a fair fight.

I love QEW but I have not tried the Optimum. I ordered the Detailer's Pride 4-in-1 Rinseless Wash from Autogeek also because of the versatility. I'm not concerned about QEW's lack of lubricity because I always think it is a good idea to throw a couple capefuls of a QD in the bucket - that takes care of it. But the DP 4/1 has easy to follow instructions not only as a wash but also as a QD and clay lubricant. I'll compare it to QEW and then try the Optimum. Chances are I will not tell a whole lot of difference among them if that is the case I will probably go by price alone.

I got my most recent order in today. So, I now own all three rinseless washes. I plan on doing a comparison sometime this week.

Sorry it did not work out for you. :sadwavey: at least you got a chance to give it a shot before you bought it.

It worked fine, but as I said, it didn't seem to offer anything more than QEW offers.

guys does any1 use ONR as a QD?

I just ordered some ONR and also got PB's S&G. Is it reduntant? I planed to use the S&G as a QD but if I can use ONR like the new DP 4in1 where I mix it in a spray bottle than I wouldn't really need the S&G right? Thing is I haven't found a thread where any1 has used ONR as a QD. So any comments while I can still cancel my S&G order?
