Expensive Car Care

I'm not even going to click it in fear that its that british guy charging five grand for a detail. I met a guy from the UK who has actually met him. He said that the only reason he can get that kind of money for a detail is because there just aren't mobile detailers in that area. I guess if the industry grows then it will force him to get a little more realistic, but as long as people will pay it, then more power to him. It shocks me that people will pay me $90 to vacuum out their vehicle and rub down their leather, so I guess we all do crazy things.

LOL w/e I've accepted the fact that Paul Dalton will be posted every week on every forum...forever.

:P Give the guy a break

Oh its so true... To be honest though I would like to know what products he uses for prep... All I know is he uses royale for a wax, p21s gel wheel cleaner, and a makita rotary.

Since I've now seen that video so many times (every time it gets posted i just watch it, i have no idea why) i have picked out small things and I believe he is using HD cleanse after polishing (the brown bottle). If you recall, HD cleanse comes in a white bottle or a brown.

But yes, this was posted way too many times, someone sticky it or something. A useful thread would be a list of products he uses and a more detailed list of steps. I wonder if he glazes after that HD cleanse before the royale?

it also looks like he uses Sonus clay. I am not 100% sure about that though. It would be pretty funny if he was a member here.

A list of products he uses would be cool to see.

Another detailer here who's licensed with Zymol said according to the terms of his contract he's not allowed to discuss the non-Zymol products used on the same detail as any Zymol products.

from what i can tell:

1) Zymol Horse Hair Wheel Brush

2) P21S Total Auto Wash

3) P21S Wheel Gel Cleaner

4) Sonus Ultra Fine Detail Clay

I'm still curious about what kind of rotary backing plate he uses.

thanks!

My first reaction when I saw this post (beside "ARGH NOT again!") was that I need to polish someone with 4" spot pad to death because that is what I promised to do to next person that posts it last time it was posted. (relax guys, j/k, I plan no harm to innocent spot pads)

My second reaction was little bit more constructive and I started thinking along lines of "there must be something to prevent this from reocurring". So, I am suggesting that e-mail sent out to all new members on joining includes warning which (re)posts would be considered "viral bandwidth wasters" and are therefore not allowed (this being one of them) and warning if member chooses to ignore that that they will be banned until they contribute $xyz to "wasted Autopia bandwidth fund" to cover for damages incurred.

Any thoughts?
