Your Opinion on the best Waffle Weave

I have used the Waffle Weave MF towels and they work good when you use something like the California Water Blade to first take off the majority of the water on your car. The WW MF towels do hold a lot of water, but usually it takes a couple of the large towels to dry your car.

I have used the Meguiar's WW Towel in addition to one that I got elsewhere (big blue WW MF), and this towel works pretty well for the money - Megs calls it the Water Magnet and it costs about $8.50-$9.00.

I have used the Meguiar's Super Suede Drying towel also. It feels like a chamois, but is made of MF. It is very soft and feels like a brand new chamois. Since it is a microfiber, it also holds a lot of water. It sells for about $10.00-$11.00.

I like all microfibers a lot, and you have to learn how to dry your car using MF's. Like Boss said, you have to wipe slowly... and, if I had to choose between the 3 that I listed, I like the Super Suede towel the best.

I had an F150 SuperCrew (big vehicle). After a proper "flood" rinse, I could dry the entire vehicle with one (two max) Big Blue WW towels.

Mimimize the standing water (flood rinse) and them wipe SLOWLY with the WW towel. Did I mention to wipe SLOWLY... give the towel some time to soak up the water!

P.S. Don't forget to wipe SLOWLY! :D

I normally wash my entire car 2 times and the 2nd time around I let it sheet off the car using the flood method. I noramlly use Eagles Quick Detailer every if not every other time after I finish drying it.

I got a bunch of regular yellow mf towels at costco a few months ago and they absorb very well. I use one to get most of the water off of the car, and use the second to go over the mostly dry surfaces to avoid water spotting

did you get the 16-pack of yellows? I got them and was curious how they were on paint (i haven't opened the pack yet). Were they friendly to your finish?

i purchased some of the light blue ones from Sams CLub and they absorb water great. Normally one pass on a panel and then I can ring them out and go to the next one. I believe they are 70/30 bland, the ones I got from SMP are 80/20 and i think are better suited for removing polishes/waxes. They dont have the absorbancey like the light blues from Sams.

Most WW's are gonna do a good job. I can do an entire car with my Sonus Yellow WW, and I just got the Big Blue WW from PAC. I'll use BB on my car and use my older Sonus' ones on othe peoples cars (lol).

For all MF's, I am soaking them for an hour or so in a bucket of regular Dawn detergent. Then I rinse them out a few times under the water to get out dirty water, suds, and particulates.

Then I will wash them in cold or warm (not hot) water using the MF cleaners we see on our detailing sites. I then air dry.

I still detect that "microfibery feel" in the texture on my Autogeek towels, even though I see some strands here and there from wear and tear. But I've probably used them 10 times already and they're still in good condition.

i got a huge Microtex drying towl 6.5 sq. ft. from walmart yesterday for 5 bucks. Its really plush, but i havent tried it out yet.

LOL, I'm sure Ranney has some nice towels, but I think even he would laugh at the "best on the planet". In the opening post, the towel he (thread orgininator) was disappointed in was the big blue from Pakshak.

As I have noted before, when buying MF towels from any of the better vendors any differences in quality are pretty insignificant, if present at all. In many instances, the products appear to be sourced from the same mfg. and indeed are the same towel.

00GREENMACHINE, I can't be sure from the picture, but the towels look very familiar. The look like towels that I have from two different vendors. FWIW, I've read good things about Mr. Regan's products and service.

I'll bet you'll be happy with it. I have a couple or three that I have in rotation.

I'll second Mr. Clean's opinion. I like these towels, especially for the price.

Matt go to your local Target they have Vroom mf towels (12 pack) that are nice and plush. I did the cd test before and after I washed them and they did not scratch and I put some muscle into to. It's a great deal for about 9 bucks for 12.

are they good about removing wax?

I haven't used it for that purpose, but it does have a real nice plush side that seems like it would be nice for removing wax.

By the way - how did your order go? Have you placed it yet??

I love the waffle weaves from ultramicrofiber on Ebay. He sell's them for $26 shipped. They measure 5ft x 3 ft. I can almost dry my entire Maxima with one towel. In fact I think I may order another one of these right now! Thanks for reminding me.
Can you post a link please?

Wyt - i got the 12 Vroom towels, i'm impressed, very plush. And i used my Microtex drying towel today, WOW it works awesome, 100xxxxxxxxxxxxx better than my Absorber. I love it now, i might get a few more next time i'm at walmart.

Passed on the VROOM 12-pack (white) and got the Blue 5-pack.

BTW, why do the towels say Microtex -- is that a manufacturer or a generic name for that type of microfiber?
