Maybe it's your PC, or perhaps microfiber towels, maybe some washing method-



I'm wondering what your favorite or most important discovery in the realm of detailing is/was..



For me, today anyway, it's 3m Imperial hand glaze.. I just can't get over the difference that stuff makes before I wax- I mostly use it as a cleaner to get any slung polish and water spots off. I use it on glass, rubber- everything but the textured black plastic of my grill...

Of course I use some glass cleaner after I use it on glass, but it gets the harsh water spots off, and the glass cleaner gets the ihg film off..



I can't imagine waxing without first using the ihg..
 
First Mf towels. I like the Pak shak towels. They are not the most plush I have but the back side( less plush) is great on windows. The most plush I have are Neatitems and that is what i use if buffing with a dry towel on a dry surface.

After this site, I would have to say the Clay-Magic bar. Thought that the Meguiar's bar was decent, but um--a tad frustrating to use. Before I discovered clay bars, I assumed all that the only way to remove embedded particles would be with chemicals or a rotary. :o

Me too. I just picked up a quart of Hand Polish and will probly get a gallon of DACP and Swirl Free Polish next week. I still need a good vacuum.
 
..so it sounds like I need some S100..



I just bought a can of Stoner's Invisible Glass- gonna go try it now-



I wonder if I can use a swiffer sweeper with a paper towel on it to get the inside rear glass- My hands are mounted on my arms the wrong way to clean the inside rear glass otherwise..

Favorite surface prep product after years of neglect. Meguiars Dual Action Cleaner Polish.



Favorite One-Step Product. 3M Cleaner Waxes. You can choose either Fine or Medium Oxidation removers as needed. Removes acid rain etching when nothing else would. Truly a product that can do it all.



Best swirl mark remover. Limited experience, but Meguiars #9 version 2.0 has been so good that I am reluctant to purchase anything else.



Favorite Hand Glaze. 3M Imperial Hand Glaze. Truly versatile. Used often both by hand and machine.



Favorite Dark Car Glaze. 3M Foam Polishing Pad Glaze and Swirl Mark Remover for Dark Cars.



Favorite white to Medium Color Glaze Meguiars #7 Show Car Glaze.



Favorite Paint Cleansing Lotion. (very mild glaze) S100 Gloss Enhancing polish.



Favorite Reflective Carnauba Wax. P21S. Also easiest to apply and remove. Very impressive with a second layer. A bit expensive.



Best Carnauba Wax under $10.00. Meguiars #26 Paste. You can actually feel this for weeks after applying. Great wet look.



Favorite all around Carnauba. 3M Perfect-It Show Car Paste. This has not only a high jetting factor for a great wet look, but is almost as reflective as P21S and more durable. Expect it to last a little longer than other carnaubas. Beading in the rain is its test of durability. Looks great on all colors, especially with 2-4 coats spaced 1-3 weeks apart. I have a "silver" Dodge that neighborhood kids used to call "Government Gray." They haven't since I started using this product. At $15.00 for 12 ounces it is only 25% of the cost of P21S.



Favorite wax that is most gentle on the paint finish. Any of the above Carnaubas. With one vehicle with a conventional paint coat, almost any liquid wax takes off a fair amount of color. I can get a great look with a paste wax, and no color comes up when applied.



Favorite versatile synthetic. Blackfire All Finish Paint Protection. This "wax" can be put on top of a glaze, and almost any brand of surface preparation, like Klasse All in One, or its own Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish. It layers easily. And lastly it can be topped with a Carnauba for the ultimate look.



Favorite innovative product for removing water. The absorber.
