First rewind to a couple of weeks ago..... My wife cleared our laneway with the snowblower a few weeks ago after a snowstorm. The snow was wet and heavy. She parked it in our "unheated" shed with the mouth, augers, throat and chute completely packed with wet snow. In other words....she didn't clear it before putting it anyways. She surprised me with a nice and clean laneway when i came home from work. Bless her heart ! :xyxthumbs
Fastforward to yesterday.....we had a late winter storm that dumped about 1 foot of snow up here yesterday and very cold (way below freezing). I came home early to avoid traffic (too late for that - very nasty ride home
) to clear my laneway.
I went to the shed and pulled out the snowblower thinking "you better start or i'll beat you with a Louisville Slugger". It has a tendency to be hard to strat (pull start). Anyways, to my surprized it started right up on the 1st pull (wow - i thought things are looking up)
I put it into gear and pulled back on the auger handle. All i got was a strained grinding noise, a burnt rubber smell and no snow being projected....i thought...what the heck? I turned it off to go check the front to see ice completely packed from one end to the other of the parts mentioned above. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !
I'm thinking consipary here...i'm pretty sure that it's all part of my wife's diabolical plan to get back at me for never learning how to operate the washer and dryer effectively. :lol
I parked the snowblower in the kitchen on a bunch of towels to thaw it out. The kitchen was the best choice of limted heated spaces for me to use. A couple of hours later we had supper thinking pleasant thoughts about my now nice and clear laneway.
