twist

hello, i just purchased some collinite 476s, some Klasse AIO, and a claybar kit. i was wondering which pads or applicators should i use for the collinite and Klasse AIO? should i use foam pads or get one of the special cloth ones, or does it matter? thanks alot

cant speak for the colinite, for I have yet to try it..... but i use AIO all day everyday, and when I am not using it via a portercable DA, I use a microfiber applicator pad. . . .

try misting a little quick detailer on the pad before use, it will help you spread the product more evenly. . . . .

good luck with your detail :xyxthumbs

thanks for the info, how about you collinite guys what do you guys use? i was thinking of using a foam pad..

thanks

For Collinite I like to use a foam pad on the PC, but if I was doing it by hand I'd use a foam hand applicator. Just be sure to apply it as thin as possible for best results and easy removal.

I use foam pads for any LSP. Cotton or MF applicators allow for more bite, so I only use those with cleaners/polishes. Just makes sense to me that way.

I hardly ever use them either, because if I really need bite, I'm not working by hand anyway. I do use MF applicators often for removing wax stains though.

I second MF pads. They do not catch on the paint like foam can. I use the ones SM Arnold makes. They are the silk type MF, so they do not have too much bite. They are 6.5 so you can cover a larger area.

I use AIO and Collinite 476S on new paint and I settled on Microfiber applicators (Sonus Der Wunder) for the AIO and foam applicators for the wax - I figured with the AIO you want to use something with a little bite whilst with the wax you simply want something to glide over the now clean surface.

Just did this - I applied both products by hand and used a cotton terry applicator with AIO and a foam applicator for the 476. No complaints.

The biggest difference was making sure the 476 is warm. If you keep it in the garage, I would bring it inside overnight before you use it. It spreads a lot easier when its warm. (assuming you are in an area where it gets cold).
