What do you guys use to dry your car to avoid water marks? I have a black car and just use cotton towels. Anything better out there?

Also how do you wash your microfiber cloths? In a bucket or in a washing machine?

A Waffleweave MF towel. There are a bunch of threads on this.

Wash your MF towels in the washing machine with a liquid detergent, no fabric softener or bleach. Line dry or dry in the dryer using low or no heat without a dryer sheet.

Wash my MF's in the washing machine with liquid detergent only. Never use bleach or softeners. Tumble dry on low heat setting. Also, I never mix up my MF's with other fabrics.

Thanks I will go look in to it. do you know if any stores offline carry them. All these products that are reccomended never seem to be sold in stores, lol

Be careful lwith MF's on dark cars. You'll cause micro marring.

Try the water sheeting method with a blow dryer.

No matter what you do you may need to QD afterwards anyway, if you want perfection. I like cotton better, feildcrest,

what is micro marring. Boy there are so many things to remember. I'm nuts for getting another black car but it was too good a price to pass up

BTW I use Good MF towels to dry and no maring at all and I have a black car. WW From Pakshack is the beast. www.pakshak.com look for the waffle weave at $18.95.

My experience with Micro marring ahs been with Micro fiber tech TOL towels. I have not tried Pakshak's. However I have NEVER micro marred with my feildcrest towels.

I know alot of people like MF's. I do for cleaning but not detailing. Although they remove sg's and wax better than cotton, my exoerience has been as described.

No flames, just my experience.

Spree,

Micro marring are the very slight swirl marks that show up especially well on dark cars. Lighter cars don't show them as much. But with black I take every precaution, especially if I'm using Zaino.

Hi All,

I use a waffle weave and follow-up with a terry micro fiber towel as a final wipe towel.

I too was previously a Absorber user but I notice that it like to cling onto the paint which sometimes caused smearing. :nixweiss Also, I didn't like that fact I had to ring it multiple times.

With Aloha,

Ranney :)

spree, can I ask which auto shampoo you are using?

i have tried powergloss 901 auto shampoo at the recommendation of others here and it is very good as far as preventing water spots...sometimes I don't dry my daily driver when I wash it and the result is very good with the Powergloss shampoo....It may be worth your time to check it out.
