Wet Tire Shine

I use Eagle One Wet Tire Shine on all of my customer's cars I do. It's not the cheapest stuff and doesn't last very long. I absolutely love the way it looks. Does any one know where I can buy it in bulk so it would be a little cheaper or a product that works just as well that ya'll like that gives a very wet look to the tires?

Thanks

Cam, check out Top of the Line's Grape Tire. It's inexpensive and gets better and better over time. It's less messy than Eagle One too! It is more of a "sheen" that absolute wetness, but they also produce a WET Look tire shine.

I picked up a bottle of Turtle Wax "Wet and Black" that was being cleared out at Zeller's (Canada). I paid $3US for a 23 oz bottle. I figured for that price, it was worth a shot. And HOLY COW! did it ever do a nice job! Don't know what the regular price is, but when this is gone, I am definitely going to buy some more.

Might be worth a look for you if the regular price is as good (relatively) as my 'bargain'

Some Chemical Corp. has a product. it leaves the tires with a SHINEY WET LOOK I think it is better than Eagle One and is less Expensive!!!!!

You can contact them at some phone number. Again, I would tell you, but then i would probably be kicked off of Detail City for spamming. Wait a second.... why can't I post anymore? I think it has already happened! The axe of banning really does fall swiftly around here! All hail to the mighty Fuzzard! :bow

I know you like the way it looks but I would personally use a different product. The Eagle One Wet Tire Shine will make the tire look brown if not washed often.

Has anybody tried Meguiar's High Gloss Hot Shine Tire Spray or Detailer's Pride Gloss Tire Dressing?

I've never had a problem with Eagle One Wet turning my tires brown. In fact, I've always been very impressed with how long the shine actually lasts. I can go two or even three weeks before they start to brown. :dunno

I shouldn't say all tires, just some of the guys at work and their Dodge trucks. All of their tires are brown and that's what they use. They have to add more EO to cover the brown.

Try using A2Z first to clean the tires before applying more. Perhaps the brown is just old dressing that should be cleaned off before putting new stuff on. :dunno

I've actually ran into EO turning brown. I think it is the combination of not cleaning the tires first, driving habits, and really the weather.

Cam, I've tired Hot Shine, and that's what I use on rugged tires. It's too much work to get a sponge in between all of the crevices. I don't mind using Poorboy's Bold n' Bright on the flat parts, and then an aresol for the outer part, as in this picture.

Here is an older picture of what I am talking about. For some reason, I want to say this is one of the pictures I took when testing Bold n' Bright? If it is, I rubbed it in very well, as it is more sheen than wet. :dunno

I really gotta ask though... maybe this should be a new survey...

Of those clients whom we detail vehicles for, how many prefer to have that high-gloss carwash style suckered up tire look on their vehicles when the vehicles value in excess of $45,000???

:dunno :dunno :dunno

Personally, I think shiny tires really bring out the rest of the vehicle - its like the icing on the cake. Anyway, my favorite tire dressing is the Eimann Fabrik Black Opal. It sprays on really well and dries nice and evenly; it also seems to last a long time too - especially if you use two coats.

I can honestly say that every client I have ever had has wanted glossy tires on their car when asked about it. Some of them specificaly tell me that they want the tires to look black and wet. The trick is to use something that doesn't sling all over the place and lasts. I've found that eagle one Wet does the trick for me. The secret is to clean the tires before applying it. I really do think that the brown is just old product that is still there. Whenever I clean the tires, there is always a stream of brown gunk rolling down the driveway. I clean my tires everytime I wash the car and I have never seen my tires go brown. I have been known to go a couple weeks between washes on my Accord too. And if you just apply it thin and spread it as far as you can on dry tires then it doesn't sling. If you just slop it on wet tires then it is sling city. I haven't had a problem as long as I'm being careful and doing it correctly.

I love Eagle Ones WET Tire gel I have 5 bottles of it since its discontinued now I believe. I also have EF Black opal and there gel. I tried alot fo dressings but EO GEl is my favorite lasts a long time doesnt sling and my tires never turn brown from it by the time they would start to turn brown I would have cleaned and reapplyed anyway.

Can you buy Eagle One Wet Tire Shine at Sam's in bulk so you save some money in the long run for the amount you get?

Maybe. It depends on if they carry it. You normally don't get a bulk discount unless you are buying from the source. buying 1 bottle at sams is generally just 50 times cheaper than buying 50 bottles. If a bottle of this costs the same at a warehouse store as it does at PepBoys then you aren't really saving much. You could probably just wait for a sale and stock up then.

I have experienced many solvent based dressings causing tires to stain. It doesn't look like blooming, which is normally brown all over but are vertical stains. I may have pictures of what I'm talking about somewhere. Hopefully they didn't get deleted.

I've experienced the Eagle One dressings causing this as the ones I have used were solvent based (Clear). Some other solvent based dressings have caused this too. I haven't seen it with the Grape Tire Dressing yet though.

PBs B&B is great I think and not just because of the look. Its technically the "right" dressing to use as it will not dry the rubber over time. Also, I think it does a great job of NOT attracting dirt/dust unlike silicone based products. Too bad its so pricey though....You could get 2 or 3 EOs for the price of 1 B&B.
