V12 garage queen detail

It's an '87 Jaguar XJ-S V12.

SSR2/green via PC

GEPC/blue via PC

UPP by hand

VM on glass

PB's Trim Restorer on plastic

303 on tires

VM on chrome

The car was in pretty nice shape, but there were a few minor issues to be addressed. Wax stains on the plastic, waxing dust in the door jambs, hazed bumpers, streaks in the paint from waxing, and some typical swirling.

And after...

Here's my favorite shot by far  :hifive:

Here's one problem that definitely needed some work. I was skeptical that I could do anything to help the problem, but I was actually impressed by the filling ability of GEPC.

Sheesh, Maxy, I asked you if it was an XJ-S, and you said it was an XJ12 coupe...which would be a different animal (if they actually made them...I don't remember). We used to have Jag dealer a couple towns over and my friends and I used to go over and gawk at the XJ-S's back in the day, although they didn't have the dual fuel tanks like the XJ sedans. Cracking came out good; what did the customer say?

PS I see your U-Haul in the background ;)

Gorgeous! I'm very impressed by what was acomplished with the GEPC. A quick and maybe silly question. Exactly how did you apply the VM to the windows? Every time I have tried this, I get spmearing and streaking with the wipers. I know alot of people here use it on the windows, I must be removing it incorrectly. What's your technique? Thanks

Very nice, thanks for sharing this one. By the looks of it that one must've lived an easier life than mine did (before I made mine a garage-queen too). His build-quality puts mine to shame too.

Where was the cracking, on the hood and around the fuel filler area?

Oh, and what, no engine compartment pics? Doing *that* part of these cars is, uhm, "fun" ;) :grinno:

Awesome work Maxy! Looks great. Like you mentioned, the hood shot is sweet. He should get that paint defect worked on. The wood, gauges and leather on those Jags are simply gorgeous.

My friend has the EXACT same car but converted to a Chevy 350 crate motor and AC Delco electrical wiring. Otherwise it looks stock. There is a guy in southern Jersey who does the conversions.

We have a blast pulling up to other Jaguars rolling down the window, getting their attention and asking in our best British accent: "Pardon me, but would you happen to have any Grey Poupon?" in reference to the old mustard commercial. :rofl Some guy in NY City lost it when we said that - he couldn't stop laughing so hard.

Again, nice work :xyxthumbs
