Using a grout sponge

So I finally picked up a Lake Country sponge at the recommendations of DetailedImage, and the fact that so many on here love them.

Anyway, I'm not sure I was impressed. It doesn't seem as soft, and while it holds a lot of suds, I'm wondering if I was "using" it wrong. I know you aren't supposed to use any pressure when washing, but I found I had to keep squeezing it to get some soap out, then "scrub", then repeat. Is there a better way?

And how do you make sure its clean afterward? I usually just throw a sheepskin mitt in the washing machine on delicate with some Oxyclean.

it's not a bad wash media (too thick IMO), but i prefer the lowes proline GS over it. it's softer, more pliable, and cheaper in price as well...

what he said. Try the proline grout sponge from lowes. Its less than 2 bucks so there's really nothing to lose.

Nothing like a new Proline GS. I actually get giddy when I open a new one. Was blown away by the feel of it the first time I got it wet. Wait, what were we talking about again.

yeah, buy five of them for under $10 and be set for years LOL...

ok.. you are talking about a "tile grout sponge from lowes" really? do they work that much better?

and yes im a newbi.. so what does LSP mean...?

and the time is jacked up on here.. it's 12:33am right now....:wtf:

lsp is last step product. A wax or a sealant.

and yes the proline grout sponge is a tile sponge from lowes for sub $2.00

edit: lowes sells a number of grout sponges, so make sure it is the PROLINE sponge, if you decide to buy it - which you should since its cheap and works awesome. Go now. Buy it. Ok, maybe not now since its nearly 10 PST, but tomorrow ... buy it!

Yes, Tile grout sponge. They hold water well, and release dirt easily so you aren't scratching your paint. I thought the same thing, ***...

LSP = Last Step Product, the last thing you apply to your paint when you are detailing.

they are already really soft as it is, but when they are wet they are even softer. here's the one you want below and if need be, take a picture with your cell phone to remind you so you don't get the wrong one...
