Thanks mate :)

Still not much better but 2nd appointment with the osteopath at 3.40 today. I may insult his wife or something - maybe that way he'll "manipulate" my back a bit more vigorously :D

As for the car - hard to say really. The doc thinks that 12,000 miles so far this year is "a bit on the high side" and felt that an Astra may not be the right car for a slender chap like myself...

My boss wants to discuss my mileage with me when I get back but TBH this may be the final straw for me. I enjoy my job but recently it's become, I dunno, more of a chore (this may be down to the recent legislation changes) and were it not for me being laid up, I'd be seriously considering a change of direction.

I've mimicked the motions of using a PC if that makes sense and pain all up the top RHS of my back (although not as bad as last week) so fingers crossed I can get it sorted soon as re-runs of all the old cr*p I never used to watch on BBC/ITV are starting to get kinda tired :D

Andy, this may be the perfect chance to consider a change in jobs. BTW, your employer has a legal duty to provide a suitable car ie right type of seats etc. He should have a risk assessment somewhere.

Hope it all gets sorted soon Andy.

As for TV being rubbish sounds an excuse to get some DVD'S with Group B monsters in action to watch.

Lowe - problem is that starting a detailing business ain't able to happen right now...

The doc basically said today no argument that the car's contributing to the problem, BUT I chose it (after a 15 minute test drive, mind you) so I'm not sure how/where I stand. I'll talk to my boss when I'm back next week and see what he suggests.

Rich - I've done all 4 Lethal Weapons, 2 Bond movies, countless "Carnage" episodes and found American Chopper - not porn, but a bloody good show about custom bikes. Got Retro Car, Top Gear & Autocar and a box full of work being dropped off tomorrow :(

Just want to detail the damned car :angry

Andy

The Astra may have suited you before your back failed sorry, I cannot think of the right word) but if you need to change cars or even seats I guess your firm should at least investigate.

I've just been reading this thread and sorry to hear that AndyC_1 has a problem with his back! I can thoroughly sympathise as I occasionally have a similar problem - I can recommend a good chiropractor! He's sorted me out a few times and I go back (sorry about the pun) every 3 months just to make sure that all's well (or whenever I do the back in again.)

Hope you get well soon and back (sorry again!) to the detailing!

Prices are retail so nothing special. Only does Megs & hasn't got any of the products released in the last 12 months. Probably have to pay p&p.

IMHO stick to Alex at SP for all things Megs & a lot more besides, no p&p charge & a great service from a fellow Autopian.

BTW welcome to the forum

Does anyone know of any internet/mail-order retailers who carry the 3M 3434 tape? I used the 3M site listed on the 1st page to track down local stockists... 1 was derelict and 1 didn't carry any in stock. I then tried the local Brown Brothers who wanted me to order a case of 60 rolls! Apparently the local bodyshops don't use it because they find it too expensive, even though it is an excellent product.

I ended up with some Bodyline Fine Line tape so will give that a try but was eager to get my hands on the 3434 as I've heard good things about it.

Any help appreciated :)

My local brown brothers had one roll, which they gave me for free. He was a young lad and did not look as if he could be bothered to look it up. I asked if he had any more and he said no.

That's good news. John at cleanandshiny.co.uk is a nice chap to deal with.

On another note... has anyone here tried that 'Nielsen Liquid Gold' polish/wax?

Is there any chance a mod could move this thread into the UK section off the regional forums for us all please.

Hi guys, been lurking for a while now , learnt a lot of stuff from here, just adding that john"at"cleanandshiny.co.uk is going to stock pinnacle/poorboys and excel pads soon, if any of you are interested mail him as above making sure you enter Autopia in the subject box and i am sure some discount will apply as well.
