touch-up paint help

I have an Auto-Sharp Pen touch up stick and I can do a pretty good job with it, but.....

I found some biggish dings to fill today, ones that require many thin coats.

My question is, what order of products could I or should I use to bring the "excess" paint (there really isn't the dreaded blob-yet) down to blend better with the factory paint.

I currently have 3M SMR, MAGS paint cleaner and Polish.

THANKS!!!

I'm very curious too, as I understand it is not the car manufacturer's own paint... concerns me a little, esp for those with custom colors particular to their make of car.

The sanding process for paint touch-ups was discussed in great detail over in the "Detailing" forum. Look for my thread "Problems after sanding touch-up paint". Guitarman really helps explain what needs to be done to achieve the best results. Read the posts, I hope it will be useful to you.

You can also check out "Repairing Chips and Scratches" by David Bynon in the "Learn!" section of this site.

Good Luck!:up

I have only touched up small spots with the pen.

My car is Topaz Blue Metallic. I think the color is damn close. I read a post elsewhere in which the author claimed the Maroon did not match his OEM color to his liking.

Check it out!
