wats up my Autopian friends!, just now i was lurking around you tube and found this. I think its a sick tool for a professional detailer!

its like a chemical spray, extraction and steam at the same time.

BY the way I DO NOT work for this company or have to do anything with it, but i want to research more about it and maybe buy it in future.

i have the dupray steamer, not the one with the extractor as i have a extractor already. it is a wonderfull macine. very powerfull. has made a world of diffrance with my details not only can i do them faster but i aslo do them quicker.

I wonder how it works on an actual dirty carpet ?

You dont see much dirt coming up in the water through the little window, but I bet it would be a good machine on dirty carpet. The Dupray steamers do look like good too...I almost bought one, but ended up going with the VX5000 just because of the positive reviews.

I wonder if that machine has different hand pieces available, the one in the video would be too big for cars IMO.

Yes it comes with other tools..why do you feel that the tool is too big?

The hand piece shown would be ok for doing large areas like a minivan with the seats removed, but getting into the tight areas of most cars would require a smaller upholstery tool or crevice tool.

For 5K it better be either an amazing time saver or produce superior results.

Will it clean this any better than my Mytee would be my question:

Granted that's one of the worst I've seen come into my shop, but generally, I get bad bad carpets.

The hand piece is the same size as a standard extractor (like the Mytee), I believe. In which case, it's fine for doing about 95% of an interior. I don't have any other crevice attachments.

The water lift appears to be about the same as on the Mytee Lite, but I think the Dupray produces more heat.

WAS, I know you are the go-to guy for all things extractor related so I was supprised to hear that you do not use a crevice tool. I like it for getting into tight areas around the edges of seats.

That was one nasty carpet in the picture above...how did it turn out?

Don't get me wrong, it sure would be neat to have a crevice tool, but given the volume (and cost) of the details I do, the extra time spent with a crevice tool isn't justified. Like I said, you can get to 95% of the carpeted areas with the regular attachment just fine, and the areas you can't get to aren't areas that a customer can easily see anyways. For details warranting that kind of 99% coverage, I just remove the seats.

As for that beaten down Sunfire, it turned out much better, but I didn't get a ton of the stains out. The stains were from rust mixed with snow and water (the owner works construction), so it was really bad. Also, it was my first day with the Mytee, and I've since changed carpet cleaner solution, the original one I tried flowed nicely through the extractor but didn't take stains out very well. Anyways, here's the link:

You could scrubb/steam/extract all day, but when they're that bad either replace or powerwash the hell out of it.

Very true, but you can get them looking a whole lot better with a quality extractor. When you get something this dirty, you can actually "see" the difference in a budget extractor vs a quality one. The carpets in the demo video don't prove a thing about this steamer / extractor's actual abilities.

I guess, but when carpets are that bad you need to rely on more than just the power of a good extractor to do the job right. And yes, the video doesn't show that much; especially the power of the machine.

Not to split hairs here, but doesn't doing them faster mean the same as doing them quicker??? lol
