Sponsorship

Nothing meant by it at all. Just trying to point out that it takes a lot of money to get a magazine off the ground. I for one would like to see it be successful, that's all.

What I meant was, I would not want to read a detailing magazine put out my a certain product manufacturer. I would want one that could give reviews on ALL products or what not.

I am like you, I would like the same thing. That's why it's hard for me to review our own products, it just doesn't work very well. For that matter, I can't reveiw other companies products, that doesn't work well either.

But I would like to...

What is the big deal with getting sponsored? Do the sponsors just give you free wax or what?

free or discounted, same w/ when you get sponsored for parts :)

Thanks for looking into for me Mike.

I have another question. Are you guys having a hard time filling the local market w/ NXT? I can't find it anywhere. I looked for a good 3 weeks before I had to order it online. But I still don't see it anywhere. Walmart use to ahve the wash, but no longer. Target has the spray wax. Kragen stores say they each got 2 bottles and they sold quick. Only place I saw it was at that Carnuba Store you sent me to (great store btw) and they wanted $19 a bottle :nixweiss

btw, I noticed what looked like an attachment that hooked up to the PC unit and had a velcro side. It looked very similiar to what you guys have on your Megs PC's. Is this something that's just a simple attachment?

Hi HotRodGuy,

I haven't heard back on the sponsorship e-mails I sent out and probably won't till next week as the people involved with this are at car shows as they are every weekend. But after the show, and they get back to the office they do get caught up on their e-mails.

As far as product placement goes, I don't hear much about shipping or sales or any of those areas of Meguiar's, I really don't. My office is in on the ground floor, by the training room, far away from all these other departments and no one invites me to their meetings, and no one sends me e-mails about this stuff.

Kind of like a mushroom, I'm in the dark. At the same time, I don't really ever ask about these things either because I'm usually behind on everything I'm responsible for.

Here's one thing I know, Meguiar's gets letters and e-mails every day by people that try Tech Wax and absolutely love it. At a number of shows this year the NXT Tech line has sold out quickly and special deliveries had to be made to keep booths in stock.

The only chart I have seen for the sales of NXT Tech Wax pretty much climbs in an upward motion sharply, and continually.

FWIW

As far as the Velcro attachment thing, I haven't got a clue... sorry.

Mike

Let's have another round! This thread could ramble on forever...

'the Velcro attachment thing' could well be a backing plate for the PC,if so so, Mike will explain

I have NEVER seen local stock of NXT Tech Wax locally (I look everywhere). I do occasionally see the empty shelf space, but I've never seen the product. Other things in the NXT line? Yeah, but not the'Wax'.

Makes it tough to recommend to my clients...

from the stores i've talked to that have gotten it get VERY limited supply, 2-4 bottles per store. But you also have to think how many auto parts stores there are out here. I've got 4 basically in a few square miles.
