SEMA week Contest 2: One Pad System

3-step procedure would be as follows (paint in decent condition) on typical car (mid-size 4-door):
4 Uber Orange pads - M105
4 Uber Green Pads - M205
4 Uber Blue pads - PO85RD
2 LC Red pads - LSP of choice

Please note: this is NOT utilizing a pad washer (don't have one yet), so I will typically use a pad brush after each section, after 2-3 sections I would turn the polisher on and run a damp microfiber across the pad to try and lift any residual polish residue. After about 4-5 "sections" cleaning the pads becomes cumbersome and results diminish, so I opt to swap out the pad and go cut my losses.

Good luck to all!

I always try the least aggessive method so I tend to use at least 6 different pads till I find what is the best. That's using a rotary.

With a Rotary -

4-5 Cyan or Orange = most paint correction
5-6 Purple Foam Wool = severe paint correction
3-4 Tangerine or White = finishing down
2-3 Crimson, Black, Blue, = last step/jeweling if required

I use alot of pads, because I dont want to run them, especially the Hydro's too long and hurt them, I dont want to take too long to clean them all the time, and since I have a padwasher, this has totally changed the way I look at cleaning a bunch of pads at the end of a day/night ! :)

Thank goodness for the Lake Country System 2000 Pad Washer I purchased from Angelo at PAC a few years ago !!!! This has made it way, way, easier to clean in 1 step, get my pads back faster into production again.

Your mileage may vary.....

As promised Jack, I am here. As I told you, I use my pads once then toss:

4-6 Cyan HT pads for compounding
4 Tangerine HT pads for polishing
4 Black/Gray CCS pads for PO85RD

I believe the new 1-Pad System will be perfect for me! It was a pleasure meeting you.
