Rupe's Review: 15 * Diamond Ultra Fine Gel * 150mm Finishing Foam Pad

Excellent review! We have switched to strictly rupes pads and polishes, no washer needed.
If you get splatter and a lot of dusting,to much product.
We switched because we felt a system approach works well.

I'm glad to hear this. The Rupes works great as a system, although there is certainly nothing wrong with a little experimentation.

I definitely think Rupes pads work best with Rupes polishers. However, I find other polishes work better for me.

Whenever I put another pad on my duetto,it vibrates noticeably more than with a rupes pad. And my duetto hates 6.5 inch lc ht pads by the way

Lol.gotta love that man. I have zero regrets about my duetto.LOVE it. Love it love it. So smooth operating.I'd bet a fruits or pcxp operates about or worse than my duetto shaking with a 6.5 inch lc ht pad

The griots and pcxp vibrate WAY more than the duetto. It's a superior machine in every facet. I need to pick up a Rupes 75E mini soon.

I am a huge fan of the Rupes "system"... I agree with you 100% :)

Thanks guys. The car is ready for the LSP. I spent 2 hours getting off tape residue. How do you do it? Not tape? I tape, and it leaves glue on the edges where the tape was. Then I spend forever removing it with mineral spirits on my finger. I don't want to use a towel, because I don't want to mar the paint with the tape glue. You can see my tape above. Its the blue 3M 3/4" and some white 3M 1".

I taped more for this job than I ever did. Usually I skip most of it, because removing the glue is such a hassle on a polished black finish. some of the tape sat on the car overnight and some didn't - it didn't matter, the residue was the same. I'm guessing on a lighter color car you can get away with just wiping it off with a towel?

Anyway, I'll post pictures after it's all done. Tomorrow I'll be applying Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Regular (for it's gloss boosting ability - thanks for it Dr Olds) and Swissvax Best of Show as the LSP.

Before you put the tape on, pat the glue side on your pants to take some of the taciness (is that a word?) off. This should make tape removal much easier. Any spots I have left comes right off with a little ISP, never gave me any problems.
