Poorboy's Super Slick & Suds Car Wash Review

John,

Thank you for posting that. I was told in the past to always add the soap last as to reduce the amount of suds thus making the wash slicker, but this sheds a whole new light on things. Maybe this is why I didn't find SS&S to be all that slick.

My question is, if you put the soap in at the beginning it will produce over half of a bucket worth of suds which means you are only putting half the amount of water in the bucket as usual. So, by adding the soap in the beginning vs. the end, are you essentially just using double the soap?

I just add in the beginning, fill up and about halfway through I stop and fill up my rinse bucket to let the suds die down...I then continue filling the rest of the wash bucket.

Still 1 oz. per 2 gallons.

Good to know. I will definitely try it this way next time. Actually, we are supposed to have perfect detailing weather starting tomorrow through the weekend, so I plan on detailing at least three cars this weekend, possibly more and I'm going to try out all my different shampoos to see how they do with this new (to me) method.

.....I thought that was common practice to put the wash into a clean bucket then use high pressured water to mix it up. I find this wash slickest to date.

Sean, as Jason mentioned some people don't do it that way. When I saw Steve post that info I thought it might be a good idea to pass it along .... ya just never know ;)

Jason, Steve says to use a 5 gallon bucket, so even if a bit over 1/2 is suds you'll still have plenty of water for washing. I hope it improves the performance of SS&S for you, be sure to report back how it does.
