Pic/$20,000 over sticker?

5'11? perfect.. i think ill be able to get one now.. but what happens if i grow another inch? there goes my 60000?:nixweiss

The 5'11" comment is a slight hyperbole.

In my experience, it just depends on your body type. I've seen some fairly tall and heavy guys fit in the car (e.g. 6'3", 230 .lbs). I have no idea how comfortable they were. However, one of my friends is a bit overweight and used the car as motivation to go on a diet program. He has been successful thus far.

I'm 6' and have plenty of head room. Wearing thin shoes also helps with the pedals. Someone that is fit and 6'4" could potentially fit, but I suggest sitting in one before buying. The other thing to consider is that even though both the driver and passenger seats are identical, the passenger seat is mounted a bit further to the right in order to give the driver more room.

Most will find the limitations being the shoulder width and distance from the seat to the roll bar. There is a lot of leg room surprisingly, so if you have a very long torso, you will have to be careful before buying this car. The passenger seat is fixed to the very rear position and neither seat has a reclining feature.

Mosca,

Refer your friend to www.elisetalk.com! We'd love to have him post his pictures, if he hasn't already.

PS: The car is super fun to drive, once you determine that it's for you. Those who find the S2000 on the border of their limit of impracticality need not apply.

thanks.. i was just jokin... i figured a lot of people could fit in certain cars depending on the posture they drive, body weight and etc... just got bored and felt like messin around

Supply won't catch up to demand on a car like this. While they are not immune to depreciation, it's nothing like a Chevrolet, Ford, or even a Porsche.

As far as the engine, who cares who makes it? The more power they can get from Toyota's bulletproof block, the better I say; and who wouldn't want their exotic to have cheap & easy maintenance?

My friend Anthony just picked his up a couple days ago. We're having a Mob Run (The New Jersey Miata Mob) this Sunday; I might make it, and if so I'll give a report from the passenger seat (if I fit in it, anyhow).

Ant in his Elise:

Even if excess supply never exists, the "brand new" craze will cease to exist. 20k over sticker will only last so long, and will not be seen when the car is sold in a time when the car is selling for sticker.

Some interesting e-bay auctions to watch:

A friend of mine has had his deposit on one for over a year now. I'm real excited to drive it around when he gets it.

As a MK2 Toyota MR2 owner, I was disappointed by the MK3. Lotus built what Toyota should have, and using their own engine too! :xyxthumbs
