Hey guys I just came back from discount auto parts and picked up some Turtle Wax polishing, and rubbing compound (with nanotechnology polishing agents). Has any one used this stuff, because I won’t be able to use it for at least a week. I was curious. It says it new so I wanted to know if it is better than the last compound they had.

Here are some Pics:

Every time I see stuff like this I kind of get really nervous.

I think most of the people that pick up this stuff arent going to use it properly

I remember one of my best friends back in high school had a sweet white '85 Monte Carlo with chrome wheels , was really a cherry car. I watched as he f--ked his car over a little more week by week, actually trying hard to make it look good. I remember the ole Turtle wax rubbing compund sittin on top like a wax drying in the sun, my buddy standing there with a ragged bath towel, ready for his wipedown.

multiple strike-throughs to the primer coat, trying to make his paint "whiter". Now I realize he just needed a clay job, kinda sad.

Thanks for the memories turtle wax

Hey you could probably get a decent job out of the TW line now. A little Polishing Compound (Im sure nothing more then a light grade abrasive product), a little Ice Liquid Clay, and some Ice or Platinum protection. Your probably out the door for under $30.00. The Turtle Wax Leather cleaner/conditioner is still one of the best I have ever used to date........

I agree completely. This is a huge company and they are not going to get left in the dark completely. Sure they are not "high end", but for a weekend warrior, it will work quite well.

I got a jar of the older formula polishing compound from Canada, and it was like gold for us. Worked very well.

And I'm in love with the TWPUG waxes.

:buffing: I tryied it out and her are the pics. Tell me what you think. This is the first time I used the PC so I don't know if i can get better. I tryied this all out on the hood of a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This truck has never been polished so it was bad. The white made it hard but I tryied to get the best pics i could. I can take more if needed but its kind of late.

Please tell me what you think!:nervous2:

WOW!!!!!!!! I almost missed this!

It worked? Can you do an IPA wipe down to see if it is just fillers?

Ya it worked very good but it just did not have the cutting power of other products. I guess they were going to be to over due it so they took the safe route. It works but it takes for ever to get anything done. I just did a black sentra and it was like i had to apply 3 times before it starting to removing to the level of other compounds.

another thumbs up for :

i'm sure if we all tried these TW compounds someone here will be able to identify the stuff with another label on it !!
