Beemerboy

Just One More Coat
I'm going to put new rims on the 540i that I just got....the original tires are being brought by a friend that wants them...and the rims I will sell on CraigsList....Anyhow I have looked a tons of web site for what I want and these are what I have decided so far...I think.....maybe?....could be.....I don't know :stuart: .....its a crazy world out there in after market rims and the more you look the more confused you become :censored:

I'm limited some what as I am getting a super great deal threw Les Schwab tires locally because I know the store manager....he was my next door neighbor

The stock rims are 16" I'm putting on 18" x 8.5 with tires that are 245 fonts and 275 rears staggered to make them look allot more aggressive

I would like your feed back as well...thanks

Signed
Really Confused

PS
This is a pic of the 6 lug, mine will be the 5 lug

DUBS = Big Baller :lol:

The rims look good, i would so pimp those on a bmw. But why are you only going with 18's, why not 19's?

I think the 18" will give it the look but I won't be giving up on the ride at the same time that's the reason

These are the only two pics that I have of the car currently...I've only had it a week and work, weather and time have been a factor.

Thanks for the link

Hey Beem, long time... unfortunatly I've been flat on my old & broken back for awhile now. Congrats on the new Beem!! Yours is a sweet bodystyle... and I understand its got a few ponies under the hood also. :bigups

Since I was bored while unable to move, I went and did new wheels too... along with new horsepower, new suspension, new brakes, new tint, etc, etc (yes, I was very, VERY bored!!). I'm embarrased to post pics here since my ride hasn't seen a drop of polish since my first surgery in Sept!! Attached is the best shot I have at this point... trash cans and all!!

If at all possible, I highly recommend you go with 19s. I was concerned about ride, etc, so I tried both 18s and 19s... and 19s are the way to go!! What's amazing is the visual diff between the two... its only an inch, but visually they're worlds apart. And for the ride itself, you know how bad the roads are around CenCal, and if my busted-up back can take it you gotta know the ride is still plush. I'm sure your Beemer will be the same.

PM me is you're interested in more info... I may have a nice hookup for you with a large assortment of wheel/tire package discounts. Congrats again on the new ride!

I like the option wheel packages BMW offers. I saw an older 740li with new 745li rims and it brought back the older body style to life.

Better mileage and wear on the tires is another factor for the 18"

I don't think the milage will differ in the 18's to 19's. Maybe the ride quality a little but i doubt it will be big enough for you to notice.

I agree with 3-klasse on the whole visual diff between the two. The 19's will look way stuffed in them wheel wells.

The wheels are nice, but Im not a big fan of chrome on BMWs. Its doesnt seem to go with the sporting nature of the ultimate "driving" machine.

I like the lip on those though!

Thanks all for the advice I went with the 18's and like the look...I'm going to have new shocks and struts installed and I'm thinking about lowering it one inch when I do that....I also had a Magna flow muffler installed the next day...sounds great like a bear fighting

looking good
get coilovers :)

Good choice on the 18's. Some people over do it on size which then turns out to look ridiculous. Yes, definitely lower it a bit to give it that stance.

Pretty good looking. A little too bling for me though. Personally, I would have gone black rims with a polished lip for that car. Those would have looked sweet. Definitely a +1 here for lowering the ride an inch. That in itself will make a nice difference in the appearance.
