Need a good swirl/scratch remover FAST!

...Dreaming on an E92....
Hello all,
I'll be doing a small detail on my brother-in-laws Jetta, and it will most likely be done by hand. It's got some scratches and swirls in it that really need to be polished out, and I'd really like to do it tomorrow if it's possible. What is the best off-the-shelf product to use, since I'll be ordering some SSR1 and 2.5 next week. I'd really like to get this done tomrrow due to time restraints during these next couple weekends, so all input is appreciated!

Scratch X should be readily available and is applied by hand. Should remove SOME of the scratches, reduce others but be prepared to RUB, RUB, RUB.

Good luck - don't forget to clay if you need to which you probably will.

Thanks for the quick response! That's pretty much what I was looking for :)

I will be claying though, and waxing, and possibly using a paint cleaner if I remember to purchase it. The car usually sits in the garage, but somehow the dust from the construction around them finds its way in and cakes the car, and no he doesn't have a cover for it, although he should.

I don't think it should take too long to do the car, providing that I was able to do their truck in about 4 hours, which included wash, clay, and 2 coats of wax along with all the trim/tire shine and what not.

Hopefully I'll be able to stop by the parts store and pick some up. I know they won't be trmendous results, but it'll look better than it does right now :headbang

Here is what i would recomend.

Wash
Clay
Wash
Scratch X (on curtain spots)
Color X
NXT

I reccomend the colorx becuase it is a product that seems to yeild a good result by hand. I reccomended the NXt because it has the abiliy to lessen the appearance of swirls. You should be able to find those products at a walmart, maye not the clay but it soudns like you have that. Also you coudl try NAPA?

Well, I didn't get around to getting the Meguiars today, but I did detail the car anyway since it really needed it. I must say it looks damn good minus the hood! I'l try to get pics after I wash it next weekend
