Microfiber towels...best non linting one?

My two thumbs up go to YoSteve towels. I've tried PakShak towels as well, but give the edge to YoSteve for their plushness. Been using MF towels for the past 3 years and have sampled quite a few...YoSteve are what I prefer.

Some of my best towels come from YoSteve. The last batch though very plush was 80/20. I use them on door jambs... I require 70/30's at the moment. Not sure what he has now, but maybe I will take a look.

Edit: Took a look and he does not mention the fiber content. Could be 70/30, or maybe not. I guess I should ask...

I have been searching around for new MF's and the emphasis seems to be on plushness. While this is one factor in selection, I find it is the least important one. Some of my best towels are not all that plush. The fabric content and the construction/weave is probably more important. The very plush towels tend to "drag" on the surface and lint more. Might be good for wax removal and more forgiving if there is debris on the surface, but not as good for polishing, quick detailing or glass cleaning. I really should get some of the "suede" type MF's as well. They have no plushness at all and are the quite good at final polishing....

THe Turtle Wax MF towels come one to the pack and they are $3.97 each. I bought 2 yesterday at my local Advance Auto store and guess what??? Once home I compared them to the 2 Pinnacle MF detail towels that came in my Souveran Kit a couple weeks ago. They seem to be the the same exact towel. They are the same size size, same color, and they look and feel exactly the same. After seeing the post i checked the single towel price at Pinnacle and they are 9.95 each. Go figure!!!!!!!

3.97 apiece? I think Ranny's autopian discount is lower than that for his towels.

Looks like I'm holding off until I'm ready to buy from Pakshak.

bigboyhf, if you want something with less nap, possibly cheaper, and closer to a "suede" type MF, you should check out the 3M High Performance Cleaning Cloth. 2hotford likes these, try a search for some of his posts. Costco carries these for a good price sometimes.

The Turtle Wax MFs used to come in a 3-pack apparently. Get the older stock if you still can, they used to be 16x16".... These nice towels form the bulk of my supplies and like I said, I've had little linting from them. They should be more like $2 US though, not $4, since they only cost $3 Cdn up here.

Well I'll check sometime this week. But if they're priced for one towel, then I'll hold off for Pakshak. There seems to be substantial support for that brand. Aside from that, I'd like to get a waffle weave.

My take on the waffle weave is that it is excellent for drying. I have 3 Big Blue towels from Classic Motoring and they are great for blot drying. One will usually dry a car with maybe only one squeeze for water extraction. I follow with a regular MF for spots that I miss. I wouldn't use a wafflle as a general polishing cloth though. Could be OK but just never thought of it in that way...

btw Scott, how much is the Turtle Wax MF and how many come in a package?

Autozone sells the 12 x 16 versions (one blue, one yellow) for $4.99.

Clearkote also sells some nice MF towels, but they are $4 each and I am not crazy about the hem on two of the borders...even though I haven't had a problem with the hem scratching anything. Super soft though and a bit larger than the Turtle Wax ones I buy. I don't know who manufactures them, but they are a 70/30 towel.

Has anyone else tried Meguiar's ultimate wipes? After using one, I'm considering replacing my fluffy blue MF's from microfibertech! Ultimate wipes aren't nearly as plush, but they're every bit as soft and soak up water much quicker, which makes it good as a secondary towel for drying.

I have one that I got with their clay kit that might be the only one that's not linting right now. The rest are cobras.

I got mine as a 3pack. Blue, yellow and white apiece. Agreed, no lintiing issues. It's 70/30 and I've been using it more and more often. My favourite TW product............

+1 on the eurows...

The eurow shag hardly lints... which is unbelievable seeing how long the naps and how plush... I have Yellow I4detailing uber towel and they lint more than the shag...Guess nothing's perfect... the yellow towel is softer and 70/30.. eurows less soft and 80/20
