OK now its betweee Micropak and Excel...... dang you stiffdog you had to go and make this more complicated by ginving me so many more choices didnt you? ;)

I guess thats a good problem to have.

Don’t they have micropak at Walmart? My “topshelf mf’s are Zymol, Chemical Guys, and Cobra. I use only these on my cars. Been using Sam’s Club and Costco on other people’s cars, I don’t know why – maybe it’s a psychological thing. I love my Cobra Miracle Towels. I like Chemical Guy’s Chubby and Elite Deluxe too. While I was at Walmart a couple months ago, I saw some Micropak (I think they were called UltraPlush?) 16x16 (2 for $3.62) and a huge drying towel (1 for $6.97) that was even thicker. I was impressed. Though they are 80/20 (I know many people swear by 70/30) they are dual pile and very THICK. I bought a dozen 16x16 and a couple drying towels just for the heck of it and to test them out. I cut the tags off and I’ve been using them for ONR and traditional washes, and Zymol wax (Vintage, Concours, Ital, Carbon, so far) removal. I wash them in hot water and dry on high heat - to push them to my normal limits. I’m impressed: no marring, no hardening from high heat, holding up great, and so fluffy especially after an additional washing in vinegar and hot water. I will stress that you need to wash them before using. Again, I’m impressed with Micropak. Maybe quality mf’s at a great price are going mainstream?

I saw a 25pack of micropak MF's at walmart for $10. Almost picked up some but I didnt.

I like to use those on the underbody, engine, windows, things like that.

I also use Megs MF's on my paint.

Besides Kmart, Autozone and O'Reilly's carry them. I don't know of any others.

I see you are in Charlotte. In Raleigh, Autozone carries a house brand but it is made by the same people as Viking but not the same product. The content is 85/15 not 70/30 as the green Viking towel. There is no O'Reilly's around here.

No flames here. Microfiber towels are one item that I don't see the need to buy boutique. Vrooms are one of the few OTC items that I'm quite pleased with.

I liked my Vrooms for about a year. Now they are all shedding, so they're jamb towels now. Got replacements at Danase, I'll see how those hold up.

I personally love Excel Detail's Supreme Microfibers, such great quality and price. Patrick of Excel is a pleasure to deal with and I only live 15 min away :nana:

I like the Danase Buff towels and the Viking drying towel. Both are winners in my pack, plus, Danse gives you a free Buff towel for every $50.00 spent before shipping charges and taxes.:spot

not true...

I have used the Wal-Mart MF towels on door jambs and glass. I like the Sonus, and Cobra towels best. However, I never knew this, but even Lowes sells MF Towels. I would have never thought that I would use a Quickie microfiber cloth, but it is actually very good once you remove the lables and wash them. I washed them in the Sonus de Wunder Wasche and they actually work pretty well for quick detailing sprays and quick dusting. No marring as far as I can see. They were not cheap considering (cheaper than boutique though)where I got them. I think that the MF FIber towel has just about become a mature technology. I still use the MF Towels that I get from Wal-mart on my door jams and glass, though. I just cannot trust the Wal-Mart towels. Maybe one day I will get over it.

The best towel bar none that I use is Ultra Elite Towels They are excellant towels for all needs, buffing, wax removal, QD'ing etc... I have used many MF towels till I bought these and that is what I have been using since then.
