Microfiber kitchen towels at Walmart housewares

After doing a quick search I could not find any indication that these were discussed, so I figured I'd mention them.

In the housewares department at Walmart, there are microfiber towels for kitchen use. These are a different brand & type than the ones in the automotive department.

Has anyone seen these; and if so, what is your opinion of them?

Just thought I'd check.. as it could be useful to others.

Walmart ,.PakShak.JT MF's

At our local Wal-Mart they have MF's in the linen area 20x16 a two pack for 5 dollars no tags pass the cd test weird colors: light brown and drab green like od green and bluish purple.Still have not used on any thing but wheels and inside doors not as plush as others wifey has swiped some of them to the kitchen. Really pleased with Pakshak and less impressed with JT International (the tags on the JT's were a pain to get all the theads out once you razor knife the tags and the waffle weaves are not nearly as impressive as others have stated IMHO.

I believe Tom at JT International does offer some of his micro fiber towels with peel-off tags.

If these Wal-Mart towels are like the ones that I have seen there before, they are so thread bare when compared to a Viper Detailing cloth or Miracle/Magic Towel (both from CMA) that it's a waste of $$.

I only have purchased towels from CMA, so I trust their quality and performance.

With that said, there have been so many fab reviews about Ranney and his products, that I'll have to break down and order from him. Maybe he can send some sunshine my way in the package (way too much rain if "sunny" FLA). Hint, Hint !

I use Wallyworld towels alot for the general detailing.

Damn fine for the money, dont mark anything and wash with no problems.

Ok so nicer ones work better for final polishing or waxing .. but why waste money on nice MFs for doing wheels, door shuts or engine bays ?

I picked up a pack of the MF's at WallyWorld for 4.86 just so I could use them on my windows. Havn't washed them yet but like jimwhe said they sure are thin.

If you want Walmart towels, buy the Wal-Mart Concordia MF's. 5/$4.86USD in the Auto section.

For wheels, windows, door jambs etc. You can't beat them for $1.00 each. It seems everytime I go to Wal-Mart I pick up a pack.

These towels for some reason leave way too much lint for windows but good for all the above mentioned areas IMHO.

I'm going to be using the Concordia's for the interior. I found a winner in the Turtle Wax MFs that are sold at Autozone. They come with tags, but pulling them off is no biggie.

I wish that I could afford all Viper MF's but with having a detailing business it is just too expensive. PakShak and JT both have similar MFs at very very affordable prices whichis why I keep coming back. Stay away from the cheapies and go with what is reliable.

I got some of the Wally MFs, and really like them. I personaly have used them now on my car, mainly for drying and touch ups and QD, and no scratches.

Same here, for the $ why not. I have washed them and they came out fine. I would not use them on paint, but for general cleaning they're fine.

Me too, just use the Wal-Mart stuff for dirty areas such as engine bay, wheels, etc. That reminds me, I have to apply some Engine Kote soon, so I'll use those to do the cleanup!

Yet to use them on the leather for treating, but I'll give it a try so long as they don't bleed. Have white leather.

All paintwork done by PAKSHAK and Autopia CBT's. The CBT's work so well for QD work. Darn CBT's are so soft and with a fresh QD area they slide around quite a bit. PAKSHAK works so well for paintwork, you just can't loose with those MF's!

It's your paint, do you REALLY want to be cheap? I didn't think so!

Thread back from the dead! And welcome to our newest member, Sam! (What is he promoting???)

FWIW, I was in Home Depot this past weekend and noticed a huge bag of MF towels (I think the sign said 40 MF towels for $10) in the cleaning supply dept where they have Windex, etc.
