Mercedes CLK 500 Special Edition

This is one of the special editions made to raise money for women's cancer research. The paint was mocha black metallic. The floor mats were Sak's Fifth Avenue



Process:

Foamed with APC

Washed with Duragloss 901, 2 bucket

Clayed with 4 star

Polishing Process:

M85 via wool compounding

M85 via megs foam compounding

OC via megs polishing

M80 via PC

LSP: #21



Interior (no befores, sorry):

Cleaned with APC

used LGCM on carpets

everything treated with zymol

Funny I was going to start a thread on what techniques other use to get the lower portions of cars

CLK does look great.. . .



While the method you are using for the lower panels may be effective, please be aware that you are greatly increasing the chances of breaking your wrist. 1500+ RPM pulls pretty hard and quick when you have reduced range of motion.

Thanks. We had to do that anyway to polish the bottom of the door and the bit of paint under the car. We try to be as careful as possible.

I might give that technique a try but I would only be able to polish a square foot at a time.



BTW, cleaning the insides of the wheels makes a huge difference, even for owners who don't notice it... Atleast on wheels that you can see the inner part. Any reason why you didn't do that here?

Well the wheels were caked in brake dust and it took a combo of wheel brightener and steel wool to clean the faces. The owner needed the car that night so we really didnt have the time to use the same method to the insides. Normally it would have been done, and next time we get this car it probably will be

Great detail! ...is the owner aware of the horrible condition of those front tires!? That passenger side tire is riding on the belt....:nervous2:

Yeah we let them know they were totally oblivious. All four tires were also very low which we also alerted them to. The buffing technique was necessary to reach the lower portions as the car was very low. It was not actually that bad I've done it countless times before .
