Megs #16...overnight

This afternoon, I finally had a chance to clean up the car a bit. I used Megs (consumer) cleaner wax/polishing pad/'5' and gave the car a good cleaning. After that, a light coat of #16/finishing pad, pre-misted w/quick detailer (I use more butter on a slice of toast than I did #16 to do the whole car).

After about 20 minutes, I buffed it off (came off slick & easy) That was about 6 pm. At midnight (I'm starting to sound like Mike ;) ) I put another thin coat of #16 on the car again the pad was pre-misted with QD. I plan on removing it sometime tomorrow.

Outside temp at the time of application was 15*F (the flourescent shop light in the garage wouldn't come on, only the halogens). Before the 2nd coat, the finish was extremely glossy and slick, let's see what happens tomorow when I try to remove the #16...I figure at worst, I'll have to apply more wax to remove the layer from tonight.

Heh heh, I hope you got a good night's rest ;) Be careful, don't mar your paint buffing it off. Use a terry towel (as opposed to MF) if you need to and work slowly and carefully. I'm not sure applying more #16 (to soften the overnight stuff) will work the way you're thinking..it might not do the "solvent action" thing that way as some products do.

Let us know how it goes!
