Leather Conditioner

I have a '02 Z06 with black leather and I want to put something on it to keep the leather from cracking and looking rough. I have tried Meguiar's wipes and they left the seat all shiny. I want something that leaves the seat looking natural but preserves the leather. What do you guys recommend?

Thanks

There are a few that I like: Wolfgang, Pinnacle, Tropicare and Chemical Guys. They are all quality conditioners and will leave you leather feeling great.

Also pick up a quality leather cleaner to get all the dirt and body oils out.

I just used Sonus Leather Cleaner and Sonus Leather Conditioner on my Eclipse's 8 year old black leather and the improvement was great. Before then, the leather had never been cleaned other than using a wet rag so the leather was showing its age. The cleaner and conditioner really rejuvenated it. Not a glossy slick look, just an improved look.

Wish I had been using it for the six years I had owned the car.

I hear Leatherique is very nice for rejuvenating and conditioning older leather.

What I do is clean the leather with Woolite cut 6:1 with water, then use either 4* Leather Conditioner or Duragloss Leather Conditioner. Can't go wrong with either.

My favorites are Zaino Z10 on non-perforated leather, Sonus on grainy/textured leather, and Griot's Leather Care Spray for touch ups.

Chemical guys spray on leather cleaner/conditioner all in one is a great and easy to use product...the separate conditioner and cleaner are imo a little superior but obviously requires 2 steps rather than one....and the pinnacle leather conditioner is also very good...just a little pricey...

I've used CG and Lexol. Both are great products. Have also heard good things about Zaino's leather conditioner.

Ii have used megs leather wipes for years now. i think that if you apply, let stand for 15-20 min. and then wipe off with a dry cotton rag that will remove the "shine". if still not happy, take a very lightly "damp" rag and wipe down again. this works for me.

I agree ... I also like the Pinnacle leather cleaner/conditioner .... I cut 2:1 with distilled water which helps it spray easier and also pinches pennies.

I thought the Leatherique products might be a lot of hype but I bought some leftovers from a local guy for cheap and, besides the process being a little involved, the product worked wonders on the 12 year old leather in my M3.

Previous to the Leatherique I had tried Lexol cleaner then conditioner and the previous owner had used Sonus.

There were a couple areas that looked 'dry' and the leatherique brought them back.

My only real disappointment was that while applying the product had a great leather smell that I hoped would stay. The scent dissipated fairly quickly.

Turtle Wax cleaner/conditioner for bi weekly maintenance and maybe follow up with Lexol Conditioner

Every other month or so I'll do a full process with a dedicated cleaner such as DG Leather Shampoo, Zymol Leather Cleaner, or Woolite mix for deep cleaning..and then follow up with conditioning with the Lexol or DG conditioner

I have been using Duragloss leather conditioner and like it. I gave my Lexol away after buying it (works really well but did not smell nice like the DG).

Recently I bought TW Platinum leather cleaner/conditioner for $3 at Big lots. VERY pleasantly surprised. No shine and smells great. The best part is that the leather smell actually lasts a few weeks.

Ditto. DG leather conditioner all the way.

I've been using Leatherique for a couple of years now. It works very well on all leather.

For the very worn, Lexol makes something called Neatsfoot oil.
