Just when you thought you saw everything

I was filling up at a parkway gas station and over to my right was a guy with a new F150 ...at first I didn't think anything of the guy cleaning his windshield with the junkie squeegie they have at the stations as the roads are really bad from snow melting and salt spewing up everywhere, but then he started doing his hood and then his fenders and continued on to the rest of the truck:w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t: :w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t: :w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t: :w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t:

I wish I had a camera with me so that people could actually see such stupidity:whistling
and it wasn't like he was home either, cause as soon as you get back on the highway, the fun starts all over again:surrender:surrender:no::no:

To quote Jeff Foxworthy " You might be a redneck if you clean your entire car with the gas station squeegie". My kids like to say that. They almost died laughing when we someone do it.

Wow. There ought to be some kind of testing that goes on to determine what sort of vehicle you can have. You do something like that on the test, and you get a Yugo until you learn better. That's almost unbelievable.

Steve, why didn't you go over there and tell him who you were? :) Haha!

I think the problem just comes down to people not even knowing or realizing just how much damage they're causing by doing things like that. And unfortunately, as I have learned more than once, these are also the types who just won't listen or try to learn about proper care and maintenance.

Though I suppose we shouldn't complain too loudly. Its people like that who keep our industry alive and keep us in business.

I've seen that. I guess they figure as long as its not metal, they're not scratching.

When I saw that happen in front of me, I almost died. The car was an older sentra, but still.

:ass

It definitely makes you cringe, but as several have mentioned, lots of people don't know the damage they are doing.
The proper way to take care of a car isn't too well presented to people.
Considering that most folks don't know what is/isn't good for their car, look at how things are presented to them.
Car washes with brushes or felt strips are all over. Drying is done with cheap towels that are sometimes clean, sometimes not.
DIY spray washes have the wash brushes hanging on the wall and paper towels/chamois for sale in the vending machines.
The stores have car wash sponges, car wash mitts, drying towels, lots of things that aren't good for their paint, but they sure wouldn't know it from the way they are presented.
I had a friend that had his car washed at least weekly at one of the tunnel car wash places in town thinking he was taking good care of it. He could hardly believe it when I showed him the swirls and the hairline scratches they were putting in his paint.
It's also the case with some of the local detail(?) shops. I have friends in the vehicle business and all they are interested in is "Who's the cheapest?"
Hey, that's enough of my rant.

I'm still trying to figure out how in the devil that would even work....

:rofl

Thats pretty funny one of the funniest things ive seen is when people forget to take the nozzle out of there gas tank hole and rip the whole cord and stuff off.

Sorry if those arent the correct "terms" haha

WOW, its sad the number of ignorant people out their on the topic of car care. Its sad to see people throw away an investment like that. Having siad that if he dumb enough to do it then let him sit in a dull and dingy car, spend the money to hire one of us. Just think in 6 months he could be a clinent

I beleive not many people are into car care, they fill up with gas and use the discount to go through the automatic wash. they want the car detailed After the car looks like sh*t but they don't wanna pay to do it properly..
