What are your thoughts about the Meguiars M16 Paste Wax?

Anything better you suggest?

I am also thinking of getting the klasse twins and sprays.

M16 is reported on here as a very good wax, especially for the price. If you want it, you will have to order from a Canadian retailer such as eShine.

The Klasse twins are very good, I like their updated brothers, the Werkstat twins, better. WERKSTAT: advancing the technology of automotive detailing. I would recommend Jeff's Werkstat Prime Strong and Acrylic Jett Trigger.

another option is 476S...

I have never used it but I think I remember Accumulator has said 476 has better durability and M16 has a little better look. Atleast I think Accum has said that.

Dont you think all these "I am thinking" threads getting old?

Obviously you dont search. And by the looks of it, don't buy any of the products... But them and then tell us what you think.

I would imagine most conceivable questions have already been asked here if you search long (and hard) enough, but than what would be the point?

Should DavidB just close the forum except for "click and brags" so we can all hold hands, sing kumbaya and do one big circle jerk?

He asked a question, he's asked a few... if you don't like it, hit the ignore button. I really don't see the harm.

Yup exactly. Stated what I think perfect. :goodjob

The best option for you will be not to click on any of my posts. :getdown

Just search. #16 has been given opinions and reviews many times. Every thread you've made I have found 2-3 threads in the search just by using your thread title.

I'll even make it even easier for you.

Dude. I've been here a couple more years than you, so I'll let you in on the cycle. Most of us come here as newbs, we know nothing (even if we think we do, that was certainly the case with me). We hang out, soak up the input, ask stupid questions, etc.

After a while, we have a pretty good handle on things, we know a lot of the members, we get into deep philosophical discussions about the relative virtues of the nap of different MF towels and whether WOWO, wipe on, wait a few minutes, or wipe on and let haze really make a difference, and argue about whether certain LSP's look different, etc.

Then, usually in the spring a new crop of newbs comes around, asking the same dumb questions, the same ones you and I asked when we were newbs. But now that we know everything, these seem so dumb and a waste of everyone's time! Cut the guy a little slack. As hard as it is for me to do this sometimes, you really have to think "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all".

Thank you for volunteering.

Next time i am asking you to search for me! :chuckle:

If your looking for a good nuba wax then try Collinite 915. I have tried a lot of waxes and this will keep up with the best of them if not exceed them.

I give it the Rydawg Seal of approval!:usa

#16 is leaps and bounds above all others in my collection as far as ease-of-use and looks.

Durability only beat by Collinite 476S

I would say it's not all that easy if you're a newb though. I say this because when you're new to detailing you tend to use more wax than needed and with #16 this is a no no because it's a PITA to remove if you layer it too thick. Definitely very durable with a great look though, I completely agree with you there.

Yep, that's right. I use it year-round on my wife's daily driver, which gets a lot of hard use.

I simply *like* #16, and I especially like applying it via machine.

Great durability, looks (if you like it on the specific paint in question, it's kinda a "bright" wax, probably not the best for depth), dirt-shedding.

But yeah, apply it *VERY* thin or you'll be unhappy. I put it on so thin I can just *barely* see it if the light is just right. You don't need much, a can lasts me over a decade, and I use it frequently. The tiny bit left in the bottom rim of the can (when it was basically all used up) was enough to do the A8, which is *not* a small car.

Do you ever use a glaze/paint cleaner/All-In-One underneath it or just put it on bare paint?

Does the block of wax come out of the can? If not how do you apply the wax to the buffing pad when it is on your PC? Use a small pad that will fit inside the can?

I use it both ways with no issues.

I just rub the pad against the wax (fast, to melt the wax or rather "turn it liquid") or I use a spatula/plastic razor blade to get it on the pad. I then scrape as much wax as I can back *off of* the pad. I really can't overstate how little wax you need to use.
