I Am No Longer a Ferrari Virgin....328GTS

This is one of two Ferrari's I will be doing. The owner has this 86 328GTS and a 95 355 Challenge he keeps at the track which I will be doing in Feb.

This wasn't a major correction/polishing job, he just needed it detailed for the upcoming party he was throwing the next week. He just had it clayed and Zaino a couple months prior to me by a different, very well know Dallas detailer (no not Scottwax) so it wasn't going to need to be waxed either.

I did a quicky on the interior (which he said didn't need to be touched) as it wasn't too bad and fully detailed the exterior.

Process:

Interior:

Dusted

Floor matt shook out

303 wipe down

Leather treated with Lexol

Exterior:

Z7 wash (two buckets)

Rims and Wells got Dawn washed

Tire got Megs Hyper Shine 3:1

Trim got Megs Hyper Shine 3:1

Dry'd with Leaf Blower

Z8 wipe down.

There were minor swirls, but nothing serious, we may correct it on the next visit.

Here's some lovely pics.

328s always look so much better than 308s... though I don't enjoy the driving lights he added.

Very nice work sir!

GREAT DETAIL! i like the RX8... my father races in SSC. DId you go to the runoffs? I heard a lot of people didn't come. I guess it was probably the same distance as columbus, ohio for you. Hope you do well in the upcoming season.

I don't race, but the owner does (he's also got a 355 Challege he keeps at the track), he just sold that RX8 to a pro driver up in Indiana. Don't know who it was though, but I cleaned it up before they picked up the next day. Basically just washed it, cleaned out the inside and cleaned up about 4 sets of rims with slicks they took with them.

I wouldn't say I detailed it, as it's a race car with a full pro legal cage and he just wanted it cleaned up, not detailed.

Indiana huh? My dad has a buddy thats a world challenge (pro) driver that lives in indiana. Hes a mazda team driver. I wonder if it was him that bought it. I cant remember his name but ile find out. O and if you ever have a free weekend and theres a SCCA race weekend, i would recommend you to go. People pay top dollar for a pro wash and spray wax. I went to one when my dad was driving and i made like 1000 dollers in a weekend. And i just charged like 20 dollers per car. And especially for you, theres a lot of ferraris and lambos there. thats how i detailed the only lambo ive ever detailed. Plus, they tip VERY well.

I'll have to look into that however I don't do quickies on cars, typically takes me about an hour just to wash them thoroughly, I charge no less then $35-$50 for a wash with a Z8 topper but that includes, all rims, tires, wells and trim being treated and door jams and such....

Yeah, ask your dad if his friend just bought a race RX8 from a guy in DFW area. I won't say his name in public, but I'll say that he's the owner of the biggest F forum around....

Here's some pics of the Spec Mazda for ya.

This is before washing as the sun was going down and I was running out of light.

Great work Josh. I can't wait to see the next Ferrari.

Thanks, Bryan.

Thanks Pat, the 355 Challenge is silver with the multi colored stripe down the center with a wing on rear. Purely a track car so the wing is pretty functional.:xyxthumbs

wow that cage is BEAUTIFUL! Its either that guy takes racing completely seriously (by putting that FULL complete pro cage in there) or it was raced this passed season. You can tell by the 2nd horizontal bar on the sides. We have to put that on our car this year.

Both, he's serious and it was raced, I don't know that he's pro though, just very serious, however I wonder why he left all the seats in place and did not gut the car, my only thought was to keep it in a certain weight class?

He's very serious about racing, his 355 Challenge stays at the track, not at his house. I don't have pics, but I also cleaned up 4 sets of racing rims, very light weight, all with slicks on them, that's 16 rims and slicks total.

I'll post up pics this Feb after I do the other Ferrari race car too.
