Help Me Open/Design A Detailing Shop

Bryan,

Briefly, the shop is going quite well. I'm as busy as I want to be! Booked about a week in advance, but not turning anything away. The bills are getting paid.

I've been meaning to update this for sometime now, but I haven't had time!

I did take time to take (well lit) pics last night of a black '90 Vette that I 'brought back to life'.

Now I need time to post!

This link to my Gallery photos doesn't seem to be working...

Thanks for your interest, gotta get to work!

Interesting... I do it on the side, on the weekends and evenings. I live on the SW side but work on the NW (Park 100). Would like to swing by sometime just to check out your shop if you wouldn't mind :)

Hi Jim, I'm over on 106th and Ditch and am running my own detailing business out of my parents garage hehe. I used to work at Sparkle Buggy but decided to start detailing on my own. I'm very experienced with a rotary buffer and can do a professional detail quite well in about 3 hours time. I have numerous satisfied customers, and am getting about a car a day, however I'm anxious to get my own appartment and lease my own shop. I'm fascinated with the idea of you starting your own fixed detail shop, and would be interested in seeing how its going and possibly even helping you out if you're overworked and need a hard worker to come by and give you a hand when you need it. I'm 19 years old and an ambitious, aspiring detailer who has about 4 years of experience. I can get you in contact with Auto Magic if you would ever need professional chemicals, they've been working great for me and offer training free of charge if you prove to be a repeat customer. Best of all, they come to you so you never have to leave your shop to buy chemicals, pads, etc. etc. Anyways, business is going great for me now, and I just find it interesting that there's someone in the auto detailing industry thats just starting out professionally, and is in the same viscinity as myself. I would like to get in contact with you. Thanks!

Bill

If I may offer some advice:

You mentioned about working the shop by yourself for the first 6-7 months and concentrating on technique and marketing.

During that time you are not going to have time to work on technique and marketing.

You need to develope your marketing material and work on your techingue now.

Do not wait until you have no customers to work on your marketing. Then you will start to undercut your prices just to get work in the door.

I wish you the best of luck.
