Griot's Garage Products

What's the forum's overall summary of Griot's Garage products. I keep getting their catalogs. I get the impression their products are generally good but rarely "best of class" and tend to be overpriced.

Does this sum it up at least for their liquid detailing products vs. tools and misc. supplies?

Do they have any "best of class" products in their lineup?

There was just recently a long thread about this. Lots of opinions on there. I find their detailing supplies to be fairly priced. 35 ounces of detailing spray for $10 seems pretty reasonable to me.

Speed Shine is awesome, as is the Car Wash. Best of Show Wax is an acquired taste. I'll leave the rest to the other recent thread :)

Speed Shine is fine, and I love the car wash soap! I use it in my wash bucket, and I dilute it in my foamgun as well. For me, it's the keeper in the Griot's line.

Best of Show wax is OK, but there are better products out there for the same or less money.

I do like the Interior Cleaner, though. It works well on spot removal on interiors (important when my kids were younger), and even now, I use it as a spot remover inside the apartment. I always have it around.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, IMO Griot's Car Wash is about as good as shampoos get. Actualy, I use a fair number of their products.

Hey, Moe- Ah, thanks for the heads-up, I'll have to give 'em a call.

I've only played briefly with Speed Shine, but it seems very nice so far. I really enjoy using the Car Wash - nice cleaning, very slick, great smell, and nice gloss.

I hope to try several more of their products and tools in the near future.

They have a killer tire dressing applicator. It is the one with the red handle. Very durable pads and they lay down a very even layer of tire dressing.

I concur with everyone here that likes the soap and Speed Shine. The soap is my favorite. I also like their sheepskin mitt (made in Canada), but it's pricey.

The Undercarriage Spray is also nice. I've heard TOL's Grape Dressing is similar, but I can't get that in California.

(sidenote: I think they send too many catalogs--seems I get one every week.)

I agree with the Undercarriage Spray, and I use it on my wells that aren't "carpeted," and on my gf's vehicle. If it drips onto the pavement, it leaves a stain. Not much of a problem on my old asphant, but if I had a nice concrete drive, I'd think twice.

I have been wondering about the Sheepskin mitts. One thing I didn't care for was their window cleaner. Didn't seem to clean very well at all streaked for me. It's sure cheap, though.

The Interior Cleaner works well on all surfaces and I even use it around the house on carpet and furniture. It's awesome.

I really like the Leather Care Spray for fast and each sprucing up of the leather surfaces in my cars. It's easy to use and has decent cleaning ability. Leaves the leather soft with just a few sprays and wipes.

I'd like to try their Rubber Cleaner for routine tire cleaning especially since they recently "improved" it, although they don't indicate how or why. It'll be on my next order along with some more Speed Shine (the refill kit), Spray on Wax, Interior Cleaner gallon, and some other goodies.
