Beauty Shine Carnauba "Blue" 418 (let`s call it BS 418). With a tub like this, no wax collector can resist.

According to the labels, it`s a newer version of the same wax that has been popular for decades. They also make the (perhaps more famous) pink wax whose claim to fame was the start of the whole "spit shine" where water activates the wax. This "blue" carnauba doesn`t claim to be improved by "spitting" ;)

Not the pretty blue of Natty`s. More of a gray/blue.

The scent is that of solvents with a slight lemon masking scent. Not horrible by any stretch.

This is a LOT of wax. I was taken aback by how heavy the tub is. It`s a whopping 20 ounces - of paste! At $21.50 plus shipping, it`s a really good deal for a big tub of high quality carnauba wax. It contains cleaners, but I`m not sure about fillers.

^^ he he, good stuff.

Upon using it, you can tell it`s high in solvents, as it glides on easy and then dries to a traditional waxy haze. Although application was a breeze, removal was either a bit smeary (if you don`t wait to long) or dusty (if you wait too long). I found 15 minutes to be about right at 76F. Overall, it was a typical traditional wax experience, bit definitely leaning on the easy side.

The only use I`ve done so far is on two panels in which I had laid down an awesome layer of Collinite 467 a day earlier. I topped it with the Beauty Shine wax in hopes of realizing some good old carnauba glow. My hope is that the cleaners in BS 418 didn`t diminish the 467. It looks great! But then again, the panels looked great BEFORE applying the BS 418. I noticed some added depth and a slight muting of the metal flake.

I`ll try it as a stand-alone wax and update later. For now, here`s a reflection in the fender of my black car...

Nice looking wax and container.

I love old metal containers. I found an old Nabisco saltines tin at an antiques store and it is now in my cupboard holding saltines. Same thing with an old bandaid tin.

I wish Nattys or Pinnacle Souveran would come in metal tins. Meguiar`s screw on gold glass paste is the best designed wax tin, with the applicator indent/recess.

Too bad that wax was garbage...

Huh, that sounds very much like the Cleaner Wax that Pro sold back in the `70s. Forget the name, we called it "Pro Blue" and topped it with their yellow straight wax, which we called "Pro Yellow". IIRC they still make the latter..

it`s not out of the question to have a Special Edition in a tin .. many people prefer plastic which is cheaper and usually easier to open ;)

It`s also too bad about VOC laws , so it`s a "NEW" version of an old wax ;)

Speaking of Gold Class, I dunno why they don`t just put M26 on the shelves for consumers  Maybe put a Veyron on the tin to give it some street cred.
But yeah, I do like the Gold Class tin. And I appreciate how the Collinite tins pop off with very little provocation from a flat blade. This Beauty Shine wax as like opening an old-fashioned paint can. It took a WIDE blade in like four different positions to open it.

That is really funny to see this. A while back I detailed a maroon Lincoln and the guy wanted me to use a wax he had. He said his brother uses it and you can keep layering and layering it unlike other waxes that it just removes the other layer. I wasn`t sure that made any sense but I used it anyway. He asked how much to apply another coat and I said $20 more. That was a good detail that payed well and he is going to have me do it again in the future.

I had to Google Beauty Shine Carnauba "Blue" 418 and it`s sold by Best Supreme Carwash and Detail Supplies in California (sorry no link due to forum rules).

Cannot help that this wax reminds me of the now-defunct Meguiar`s M16.

Wax Addict: you keep finding these unknown/obscure waxes that, quite frankly, "intrigue" me to no end.

I will add a few more to this list:
Wet Obsession Waxes (made in the United Kingdom (England))
McKee`s 37 Trademark Carnauba Paste Wax (Yup, sold in the Autopia store)
Soft99 Authentic Premium Hard Wax (Japanese wax distributed by JDM Chemicals in California)
