Flight 93????

While procrastinating my senior research project I was just flipping through the channels and noticed its being played on A&E. I have no idea why, it just came out like a week or two, but figured I'd post it up on here. I didn't plan on seeing the movie in theatres but if its on cable I'll watch.

*edit* I think Flight 93 is made for TV and is what I'm watching, while United 93 is the big screen movie. They we're both made in 2006. I'm not sure why they made a TV version of the movie and are playing it the same time the movie is out? It's also the same content and all "normal actors" so I'm not sure why you'd want to see the one in the movie when you can watch it at home?

In a way I think it's sort of tacky for Hollywood to try and make money off it. Maybe if the proceeds were going to some sort of fund for the victims families or something....

Im going to ask for refunds on my past movie ticket purchases of Saving Private Ryan, Schindlers List, and any other movie that made money off an actual human tragedy.

I want to see it.

My Dad was in the hospital with leukemia on 9/11.
We were together as a family watching the tragedies.
Little did I realize that it was the last event we would witness as a family, since Dad died 16 days later.

Obviously, even though I saw and read alot about it, my brain cells were kind of full.
And we all know that most media slants news.

I think it is a responsibility to know what happened from all sources, memorialize the deceased, honor the heros, and never forget.
And try to not let it happen again.

That is how I felt when I learned about the Holocost as a child.

Flight 93 was tthe name of the one I saw on TV. I know the one on TV is different as the characters they show in the Ad's for the movie are not the same. The one on television was riveting. I am going to see the movie to see how the story compares. To the point of what RDW says, just about every human tragedy or world event gets in a movie at some point. At least
this one seeked the feelings of the victoms familys and will donate proceeds to them. I am not rebuting Jared as a lot of us talked about this at the begining of this thread. It definately stirs emotion in everyones mind as it was a the biggest attack on American soil. The terrorist showed us that even invisible organazaions can make significant attacks on the US homeland.

True, although those weren't made right on the heels of those human tragedies either.

I am neither for or against it. I know that I will not be going to see it. My mind is not ready to embrace such a loathesome act again. Maybe in time I will be able to watch the movie. I am proud of those people for acting in the best interests of someone other than themselves. That was and remains a totally selfless act that should be documented for history. Just as Schindler's List was made for us to remember. 9-11 remains in my heart and mind and I am not ready to view it, again. But that is just me.
