EO Wax-as-u-dry

I was apprehensive about purchasing this product, but while at a local Wally-Mart, I fig'd I'd give it a go. After washing a Yukon as a maintenance job, I applied the EO per directions, on wet surface, light mist, maybe 2-3 sprays per panel or door. Nice smell, doesnt run, but not thick either, light color, similar to a QD. I wiped in typical drying fashion, front to back on roof, deck, and hood, with cotton towel. Product doesnt dry fast, so I used a MF to finish with. Results were above satisfactory, nice finish, maybe I was expecting same results as a QD ? Surface was slick, I would rate it between a quality QD, say Showtime, and a fresh Carnauba layer. Longevity will be somewhat shorterm Im assuming, but longer than a QD product. I think its best application will be as the manufacturer states, between wax jobs. I wouldnt use it unless your vehicle has been maintained with a higher quality wax or sealant. You have to dry the car anyway, you might as well add some protection while your at it ! So short and sweet, good product to use between details, smells good, easy to work with, applies well, removes fairly effortlessly, should outperform QD protection.

I did a short review on this product a few months ago and I find this product very handy. Especially when doing a quick wash on the wife's car. :p
 
Good review. This stuff is way underrated. I use a waffle mf to remove and it works perfect. I cant see using another QD unless for claying. Great for spraying over top damp panels cleaned by a bucket wash.
 
I use it on my clear coated wheels after every weekly wash. I believe it repels the brake dust a little because my wheels have not been as dirty each week as before. Also, I notice that when I wet them they DO bead water, so it lasts for atleast a week on wheels.



I have also used it on the rest of the car with good results. I think it does help dry the car quicker as well. I use a waffle-weave MF towel.



Only thing you need to watch out for is minor streaking. I only got this once when I was rushing. Also, try to keep it off of the windows.
 
Before you guys applied it and then dried it off, did you take the nozzle off of the hose (so the water could sheet off), or leave the nozzle on the hose and water the car down so there would be more water on the car?
 
Entirely your decision, if its warm out and your car is dark, you may want to leave the beads on, however if its cool, and to avoid wringing out your cotton towel or MF, let the water sheet with the hose trick.....then apply..

I have really taken a liking to this stuff, i use it on every maintenance package i do now.....
 
Does this product contain any cleaners, or is it a pure carnuba wax?



The reason I ask is I want to "maintain" the shine from my sister's prelude, which has a coat of #7 and #26 on it. Don't want anything stripped away after all that hard work.
 
No cleaners, strictly for use after you clean your car, meant to be put on only a clean surface. Its great for maintaining that fresh waxed look. Its like a super duty QD......
 
Question: I like to sheet the water off and then use my leaf blower to remove more water and follow up with a single mf to dry. How much water do you need on the car for this product to work?

Rightlane, excellent question...The water mixes with the E/O, and breaks down the concentration...Ive heard people say they have used it straight, or with little water at all, and get some streaking....I would have to say that as long as your towel is fairly damp, but not soaked, that that would be optimum....I too use that drying method, but I tend to be less critical of it sheeting, when Im using Wax-as-u-dry.......
 
Well, ya might be able to, but im worried thinning it out would make it run...........specially when it hits a good water bead.....
 
I use a few of the Eagle's products. The name always kept me away, I guess I'll give it a try.

After reading your post, I tried this on my car and my wife's car last night. I use Was As U Dry on the cars periodically, but have never used it on the wheels. I used it on the wheels last night and drying them off was a little easier, but the visual improvement is what got me. When I look at the wheels now, they look more 3-dimensional, the curvature of the spokes shows up much better when I look directly at the wheels from a distance. I know it won't last long, but it sure does look nice for now. I think I am going to throw a coat of Zaino on those bad boys and then some #26 on top of that. :xyxthumbs
 
Never used it on my paint........but I use it on my chrome 95R's all the time.:D seems to make drying easier & repells dust like mentioned above.:cool:

I almost feel guilty admitting that I use this stuff. Sometimes when things are this easy it seems to good to be true. This is a great in between detail products. I put this product in the same category with the California Duster and Meguiar's Final Detail. I use all of these products to keep my finish up day to day.
