Embroidered Leather

I have a Chrysler with leather seats with a logo embroidered in the back.

The leather is black and appears to be surface coated, like most American leathers.

The logo is white and red and fairly prominent in the back of the seat.

I've only had the car 2 months but have read on this forum that early and frequent leather care is important so I'd like to start doing this.

Here's my Question - What leather conditioner would you suggest that would not discolor the embroidered logo in the back?

Thanks for your help! - Rob

I love 4* leather conditioner. Make sure to clean the leather prior to dressing it though. You might look into a leather kit from our sponsers. That way you get what you need along with some mf's and applicators.

I'd also be careful about getting conditioner on the logo I'd bet that its not clear coated........it might stain or make the strings oily over time...Just work around it the best as possible....I also agree with looking at leather are kits you get all you need for your car and will last a while....good luck!

Start by cleaning the logo with a rinseless upholstery cleaner (Folex, DP, and Adam's are all good) then apply scotchguard or equivalent product. Be careful when applying the conditioner, don't slop it everywhere.

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll try them out.

On cleaning prior to conditioning - is this necessary even if the seats are clean (like new) or should I clean them only if dirty?

Initially you should clean them with a leather cleaner to open up the pores of the leather so that the conditioner will be soaked into the leather more thoroughly.
