Dodge Daytona black decals??

I'm going to do a detail, wash, clay, polish, seal, and wax on a 06' Dodge Charger Daytona. The car has the (hemi) decals on the hood and on the side rear fenders(daytona). My question is, do I work around the decals, or over? Can I work over the decals by hand, then use the 7424 on the paint? Also I'm using all poor boys. pro-polish,exp,natty red. I'm not sure about that decal, has anybody worked with this car? thanks for any help.

Can you feel a lip or an edge on these decals. If you can then they are vinyl and on the surface. If that is the case I would work around them, and just wax them. If their is no edge and they are under the clear coat, then treat them like any other painted surface. I would really think (hope) an 06 would not be vinyl decals.

I'll check it out and get back to you, I'm pretty sure it's got an edge. Which I would only wax. Yeah, it's a shame it's not under the clear coat. When I see the car again, I'll let you know. thanks.

They are vinyl.
When I did one Steve told me stay away from em.
Not that you'd hurt them, but you could start them lifting later on.

If it is the matte black decals that Dodge likes to use on just about all their cars, I'd tape it with masking tape and try to avoid hitting it with the PC. Just my $.02

+1. I would probably just hit the decals with some Spray &Gloss after you polish.

work around them as much as possible, but don't freak out if you touch them ... just wipe them off with a damp cotton cloth... I'd clean them with Spray and Wipe if they are flat black ..if they are a little glossy go with Spray and Gloss ... best to keep petroleum or alchohol products away from vinyl.
