Do you guys like this business card design?

After reading Jngrbrdman's post on that other thread with the link to a business card site i did some looking. I had four people come into my work today wanting my detailing services... i figure it's time to get some cards (actually would of helped a while ago). I just want to do this part time... maybe 5-8 cars per week during the summer if i can get them (2-3 days worth) and 1/2 that during the winter (probably for just quick washes and touch up on the finish). Anyways.. i'm in the middle of starting up the business (trying to find info online). I went to the site and played around with some of their templates and came up with this:

What do you guys think? Also kind of related... should i get another phone for the business even though i'd just be doing it part time? I could probably get a cell phone with a business number for around $30 a month, which isn't bad. That way i can just have customers call that number. How do some of you part timer's handle this?

always have a number where you can be reached to leave a message (either answering machine or cell phone)you dont want to lose customers because they cant reach you !! get rid of swirl removal specialist......golden touch should be in heavy black like your name!phone number in right hand corner too much one after another spread it out

I think it is a terrific design for the card! I might just have to get some made out like that next time too. You are really going to like vistaprint. The cards are heavy duty paper and look just as professional as any other card you've ever seen. There is a vistaprint watermark on the bottom of the back of the card but I don't even care about that. They give such a great service that I don't mind doing a little advertising for them. =) The best part is that when you run out you can just go back and order some more. Your design is saved in there and all you have to pay is the shipping again. That's a nice rough draft card. :xyxthumbs

Just so the people giving advice will know; the cards have a template for the text on them that can't be manipulated. Nor can the font. If you don't like the layout of the card then you have to find one that has a template that works for ya. Its a pity they don't have the option to change the fonts and things like that but for free cards who can complain? :D

Yea, as far as i've seen from the website you can't really change the font. Though i might just take that card and play with it some. I have photoshop so i could probably put the text and everything on manually. Then get somewhere to print it. I was thinking a blueish backround might also be a bit nicer. I also made some changes and reuploaded the pic.

Did you see the card that looked like a water drop in a pool? It had that cool ripple thing going on. It has a blueish background. Personally, I really like the design you have up there already. I think it looks really good.

I'd like to see some more color on the card. Maybe a light watermark or something, but I really like it. :up I use my cards to give a very short price list so people can pass it on and they will have an idea of what I charge. It doesn't look like that design would really allow you to do that, does it?

Who's design are you referring to? In my case, I could put that on the back of the card with no problem. :D

Looks pretty nice-you might want to add a picture of a car on it also.

Here is mine-sorry the very top is chopped off-I've scanned it 3 times and this is the best version. Maybe it is too small to be scanned properly or it is shifting every time I put the cover down.

my card came out like crap on the forum, it looks a lot better in person, i just dont have a program to shrink it down to size

how do you guys post the pix right on the forum.

www.xat.com and download the free version of the image optimizer. You can compress, crop and change the size of pics. Its a 1MB size program, so even with dial-up, it takes less than 10 minutes to download.

You need to have the pic hosted somewhere so you know the exact url. Then to post, you use the following:

{IMG}www.url.com{/IMG} except use [] instead of {} (I had to use {} instead of [] in the example or it would have posted the dreaded red x.

There is also a section right under the message icon area when you post called vB Code. If you click the IMG button it will pop up a box and all you have to do is copy the link to your picture and it will automaticly put the
