Do all Edgeless Towels Fray

I`m hitting year 3 on my 1st stash of Edgeless Towels.
Gotta ask, but do they all eventually start fraying. And once they do fraying, is it a slow wearing fray.....or do they pretty much take a sleep dive into fraying.

My go to drying towels as of last week are edgeless as well. Was thinking about picking up some more but wanted to inquire about the edge issue...

I have some that are over 5 yrs old and they haven`t frayed yet, but some of them did. It`s the towel and use of washing and care of them IMO. But there is no guarantee on how or when they do. Just keep a eye out and hopefully you get your money and use out of them.

OT, but there is 1 towel that doesn`t seem to wear well ....CarPro Boa`s . Kinda like WW. They seem to have gotten stiff over time - too early wear....

Other brands of similar usage/nap/time in use are fine.
Is it just me.

So they are still new but I was impressed enough with the Infiniti edldgess and the other towels I got from limitless car care that I ordered more already. Laundering properly is very important. I wash my MF by job and with a degreaser type MF cleaner. I used micro restore and others but they don`t clean.

Microfiber is damaged by 3 things heat , fabric softener and over time bleach. If you wash them in a net bag (I don`t anymore) you clean them well but don`t neat them up on the inside of your drum. I have an HE machine it can help

I don`t baby my towels and I buy good towels they stand up.

Bleach - aka, Oxy, aka Sodium Percarbonate is fine for MF. I use this with my towels, pads, etc. Helps ~release~ things and keeps them clean....

I`ve had had Edgeless for 3 years, so this will be a benchmark on whether these style edges just wear due to the nature/type of edge detail

Oxy is better than sodium hypochlorite regular bleach which is bad. Is degrades the fibers. Once is no big deal, over and over and it`s bad. Trust me I know. My full time gig is centered around commercial laundering of super hi end microfiber hospital products.

Under my program I have products in use for 5 years that are laundered every 3 days. I`d say I`m something of an expert.

You can wash your towels any way you want. I`m just trying to help answer the question you posted to the best
Of my ability.

this is why I opt for the Chinese made creature edgeless towels rather than the eagles. First of all, I do detail professionally and I learned how to make paint 99% perfect with a rotary buffer, 3m compound and polish, and Costco microfiber towels, so the creature edgeless was such a massive step up from Kirkland microfiber it made more sense for me to progress to $1.75 towels versus jumping straight to the beloved eagle`s at $5.00 a pop. I can buy 3 or 4 of these creatures for the price of one eagle edgeless and even though the creatures are the cheap Chinese alternative, they never lint or become less absorbent after washing like kirklands do. Now I only use a variety of different edgeless towels and even though they are all chinese and some of them are as low as 245 gsm, I`ve never had a single one fray excessively. A few of the creatures have probably been washed 25-30 times even.

OK-Your epidermis is showing?

Did not know what Sodium Percarb, was last night, but I do now.

No, I said Bleach (chlorine Bleach) is bad for any textile-MF included. Sodium Percarb is basically Hydrogen Peroxide and sodium carbonate AKA the powdered version is called Oxyclean. or at a stronger concentration Sometimes a Liquid and sometimes powdered Oxybost an ingredient in many all purpose cleaner, carpet products and laundry spot / stain removers. Some even call it color safe bleach. You said I quote, "Bleach - aka, Oxy, aka Sodium Percarbonate is fine for MF" Bleach, to everyone I know is Chlorine bleach, or sodium hypochlorite.

CHLORINE BLEACH (Sodium Hypochlorite) IS BAD FOR MF AND ALL CLOTHS. Why is degrades the fibers and over time makes them brittle. It is a fact that textile items washed in enough bleach to reap the benefit either whitening or sanitizing (germ killing) will be degraded at a faster rate and therefore those goods will have a shorter useful shelf life. We use color safe bleach (Hydrogen peroxide and some other surfactants) as part of a multi product chemical injection system to launder millions of lbs of healthcare MF annually. If regular bleach was used the items would "rag out" and need to be replaced more often cause the facilities to spend more on adding new product to inventory. Any Oxidizer still somewhat aggressive but by Hydrogen peroxides far the best choice given the existing wash room technology. (We have not yet tapped into NANO technology in the laundry business)

Your quote is like saying "my super hot, high HP, sporty, totally Stock Yugo is a reliable, rocket ship, made by a financially solvent automaker and handles like its on rails.." (Sounds like John Oliver :)). Both your quote and my example cannot exist in the same world or sentence-ever.

As I sometimes do I think I beat this to death, and for that I am sorry. Just educating the world one forum post at a time. its a tough, thankless job but someone has to do it :) I get paid for every post by Autopia anyway, makes no difference to the new owners if its product related or not.

-Have a great day -Mobile and everyone else !

R u sayin Sodium Percarb is not good for MF`s ?

Chlorine bleach in general ain`t good for any fabric ;-)

Aside from detailing, there are a couple of laundry nutz here as well....
FYI, Sodium Precarb, aka, Oxygen Bleach, aka, the primary ingredient in Oxy......I use in alot of things. Needs hot water to really activate it but it`s amazing in cleaning alot of things...Just has 2 requisites. Heat and good soak time.

As long as you know that i love you and only want your mf towels to last you a lifetime :) in fact if you send me your adress by pm i will send you at my total expense a brand spanking new (never been washed) infiniti edgeless mf towel im totally loving so far, this way we can see together how long they last. (AND IF THEY FRAY :))

I bet mine won`t !

I have load incomming in the next day or 2.

Have a great day.

all my chineese MF as shrunk to about a 12x12 from a 16x16 in a very few washes. I am now demoting them to wheels, exhaust and engine all of whitch are their last duty before they are retired. Mine we not this brand and were also cheaper. About a buck each in quantity.

The 3 Yr old mark I`m talking about on said towels are the MFM CP.....
It`s not heavy fraying but once can see the edges are starting to wear, aka, not uniform and there is a speck or 2 you can see tearing from the edge..

If you PM me your address I will still be happy to send you one of these towels. I think these are the same or better than the MF madness towels at a lower cost. I also purchased some silk bordered towels that are the heaviest I have ever used. Loving both.

Thx for the offer JSF. All good. I mix up these with my TRC. I was a Griots PFM drying towel fanboy until last week. My go to blotting/drying towel is a 20x40 Edgeless as well..I got too many spares enough as is !
