I get home on Wednesday and open up IE. 404 time after time. I checked my modem and only 2 lights were on instead of 4. I then turned on my TV and nothing but snow. I called Comcast to let them know and they said the soonest they could have someone out was Sunday evening! Huh? My introductory rate for broadband is over so my cable and high speed internet bill is now $132 a month, or $1608 per year. I certainly expect better service than I am getting when I have a problem.
Their excuse? A lot of people got HD TVs for Christmas so they have a lot of installs to do. So? Why to new customers get priority over current customers? That is like a restaurant getting your order wrong and then saying they won't fix the problem until they make everyone else's order. It isn't acceptable for a $5 value meal, it certainly is not acceptable for a $132 a month cable and internet bill.
I am now looking into satellite for my TV and wireless internet. The only problem is my son has wireless internet and couldn't get a clean signal where I live. I don't want to go to DSL because a 1.5 mbps connection is going to seem very slow compared to my current 6 mbps connection.
Anyone else make the complete break from cable? Any other good options?
